knight says:
curran canceles the dinner, and kate gets pissed off.
Mashiara says:
basically, I don’t think we’re going to get the dinner we all want. I’m betting Curran is a no show and we don’t get the explanation until later on in the book. Please forgive grammar/spelling mistakes. it’s after midnight and I’m trying to entertain a teething baby. ![]()
Did I miss anybody?

Knight & Mashiara, Congratulations!
Congrats to you two!
I also wrote that there would be no dinner and gave an alternative opening scene at the Order instead. Does that count?
Sorry Anne, but it has to specifically state that Curran stood her up
Congratulations Knight & Mashiara
YAAAAYY!
thank you for the prologue though. It is great stuff as usual.
Congrats – Yes the scene was wonderful. I can’t believe you had him stand her up – no phone call..
What explains no phone call? I mean according to shapeshifter meal thing isn’t this like leaving her at the altar?
Congrats, you two!
Now, how not to die waiting for March of next year….
She should date some very very hot vampire or something. mmmm how many days until march
i can wait for magic morns, for a lilttle bit. should i email you.
I still think Circejane should win something. Her’s was the funniest entry.
Circejane – “Curran sporting venison and apple pie in his mane.”
Congrats!
ilona really what should i. i never won anything in my life, and i had a really sucky week. i failed one of my classes at my college. i really happy becuase i won even thoe i wasn’t even trying. so what do i do.?
So, from both the prologue and the snippet we had earlier of Kate hanging up on Curran I’m wondering if that scene where Ted yells at her to get to his office has something to do with Curran complaining that she has not been cooperating? Hmmmm? Maybe? Possibly?
i’ll wait for the magic mourns arc. if that’s ok.
Congrats knight and Mashiara
wow.
Though, I have to admit, after reading the snippet, I hate being right. I would have prefered the dinner going great and Kate needing that box of condoms.
Can I take some time to think about what it is I want? Magic Mourns is the name of the short story involving Andrea and Raphael, right? hmmm. And my copy of MS already has cracks in the binding. Really need to put some thought into this.
Okay…I loved it and I wanted to hurt Curran, but after I calmed down, I realized that he has to have a good reason. My guess is that he had to do it to protect Kate from something. I can’t imagine any other reason he would miss that dinner. I mean, he’s already declared she’s his mate and that’s got to mean something.
Now I feel better.
Am I the only one thinking about that dinner Jim cooked for Kate in the last book? Yes, other people were eating too, but there’s a specific scene where Jim cuts a slice of Beef Wellington for Kate and puts it on her plate. What if Curran has found out about that meal and thinks Kate was accepting Jim’s offer — the same way she “accepted” Curran’s when he handed her the soup? And remember, at the time of the soup Kate didn’t understand what an offer of food meant. By the time of Jim’s dinner, she’d been told about it. Maybe what we have here is just insane jealousy on Curran’s part? “If you need anything else, you can contact Jim.”
maybe?
ugh! 10 months.
Hey,
Well we can do this several ways. You can pick a book for me to send you: MB, MB, MS or I have this paranormal romance anthology thing.
You can wait until I get Magic Mourns arc.
You can opt for an e-copy of MM, which is basically a word file.
So pick what you want and we’ll go from there.
Sorry about class failing. Gordon failed Geology three times
Excellent choice!
Aw, thanks!
Wow, I would never have even thought of that Gayle!
Oooo, that’s very interesting. Hmmm, I still feel like he would have shown up or said something though, because he doesn’t seem like the type to cowardly shy away even if the intent is to be spiteful. Maybe it’s a combination of things?
This is what comes of reading too many murder mysteries. You’re always looking for the tiniest little clues and trying to organize them into logical structures, even when all you’ve really got is a bunch of red herrings.
I’ve always thought Jim had a thing for Kate, although he’s sure not the type to gush about it. Jaguars are strictly solitary, after all – no lion pride behavior for them. But in the last book there were a number of things I thought were “clues.” Jim opening up to Kate about his father, Curran hurtling over to Kate’s apartment when he thought she might be having a roll in the hay with Jim, the dinner thing at the safe house (which I’m sure Jim intended as an expression of his feelings even if Kate didn’t get it), and at the end of the book there’s that moment when Jim says “We’ll take care of you” and gives Kate a “strange little nod” that weirds her out.
Whether or not Curran stood Kate up because of the Jim issue, I’m looking forward to reading more about their triangle in Kate 4.
Or, maybe I’ve just reached that point of unhealthy involvement where the reader is convinced she knows more about the characters than the author does.
Maybe.
We’ll see! I just wish we didn’t have to wait 10 months for the seeing …
