On September 28th we’re kicking off a contest at Bitten By Books. The prize is a brand new Sony eReader in the color of your choice. But that’s not all.

To spread the word of the contest, we’re doing our own give-away.

The Rules:

There are two ways to enter.

1) Re-post our ad.

Below you will see three promo ads. We would like you to re-post these ads on your blog, forum, or wherever you think is appropriate. You get one entry for each place you post an ad. If you use a banner as your signature on the forum (Kate Daniels forum on ilona-andrews.com does NOT count, since the moderators will post it there anyway), you will get 5 chances to win, meaning your entry will count 5 times.

Once the ad is posted, please comment on this entry with a link back to the site.

Please do not spam. If you see an ad posted already, it might not be a good idea to post another one and a forum full of blinking On The Edge ads might make people angry instead of letting them know about the give-away.

2) Pre-order or Order ON THE EDGE.

If you pre-ordered ON THE EDGE, email us with words CONTEST ENTRY. Include the proof of your preorder (please black out any credit card numbers and other financially sensitive information), and you will get 10 chances to enter into contest for each pre-order. Entering our contest will not disqualify you from entering the Release Party Contest at Bitten byBooks, so if you pre-ordered, you might actually cash in twice.

How to attach proof:

a) You can copy and paste from your email receipt

b) You can take a screenshot of the receipt and link to it

c) You can take a picture of you and the book in your possession

Some of you already have the book due to the soft release. Your receipt still counts as 10 chances to enter the contest. Again, email us with the words CONTEST ENTRY in the subject and include the proof of your purchase, and you will be entered.

There is no need to send the email ten times. If you send one email with proof of order or preorder, we will count it 10 times when the random winner will be selected.

(It’s like a lottery: if three people enter the contest and you have ten entries, first person will get one ticket, second person will get one ticket, and you will get ten tickets, which makes you a lot more likely to win.)

The Prizes:

2nd Runner up - A signed copy of ON THE EDGE or $15 Gift Certificate from Amazon

1st Runner Up – A set of signed Kate Daniels books, Volume 1-3 or $20 Gift Certificate from Amazon

Winner – A spot on a beta reader team for six months.

Unlike the regular beta readers, the winner of this contest will not be expected to provide any feedback (unless they want to) but instead gets a chance to read everything Ilona and I write for the next 6 months. It gives you Magic Bleeds (Kate 4), the final draft of which is so secret, even the regular beta readers have not seen it, Edge 2, and whatever we write in-between. Or the winner can choose to decline the first prize and swap with any of the other two winners for the prize. Good luck guys.

The Contest closes 09/27. Winners will be chosen randomly on 10/01.

  If you want to give them a direct link to your post on facebook you have to hover your mouse over the bottom left corner of the post (where the date & hour are stamped) and right click to ‘Copy Link Location’, which you can than paste. Else your link will lead anyone to their own Home page on FB.

“10 chances to enter into contest for each pre-order.”

by 10 chances you mean, if I’ve preordered 10 copies? or I can submit my one preorder 10 times?

I preordered at the local B&N but didn’t receive any paperwork. It’s a pick up deal. If I can get them to print something out, does that count?

Does it have to be an active blog to count?

    Facebook and Myspace counts. Do not submit one pre-order 10 times, present it once and we will count it ten times for you. No it’s not ok to have your friend post it, please post it yourself so that we are better able to keep track of it.
