Who is Dave Freer? Dave Freer is the man whose books I buy in hardback.
I unfortunately can’t find my copy of RATS, BATS, AND VATS, which was totally awesome.
In an effort to drag Dave kicking and screaming to our blog, I’ve corresponded with him several times, and I had to struggle not to quote some funny from his books. I’ve restrained myself – after all one has to maintain some sort of illusion of decorum – but I really wanted to.
Dave writes military SF and fantasy, but although majority of military SF tends to be deadly serious, his books are usually tinted with light humor and, gasp, occasionally they have love stories in them and they are very well done.
Dave has a new book coming it – in fact, it’s out now and in effort to introduce you to his writing, I would like to do a give away. One lucky winner will receive a copy of SORCERESS OF KARRES sent from Book Depository to the recipient of your choice.
To enter, please comment on Dave’s post on the main blog. No livejournal, please, or Dave won’t be able to respond.
Deadline for the contest: tomorrow 12:00pm EST.
Good luck!

sounds intriguing. must look what is available on amazon.eu
The covers really look like those of some David Weber books. Mr Weber writes ‘Honor’ the character space opera normally. In my opinion his best books though are his fantasy ‘War Gods Own’ Set.
I’ll have to have a look for Mr Freer’s books to fill the ‘Kate’ gaps.
I think Rats Bats and Vats is available as a free download from Baen.
He’s also involved with the Shadow of the Lion series. I know he was the biggest part of A Mankind Witch. A fantasy series with lots of war and spies, adventure and politics.
