Sadface! I feel your pain. We had a hard time too with our dogs. Fortunately we were lucky enough to be able to buy after two years of renting!
I hate that, it’s like they don’t understand that our pets are our furry children. Keep looking, you’ll find the perfect place.
Pet Deposit these days is expensive too. I just shelled out a two thousand dollar deposit for a home I am moving into in a couple of weeks. A good chunk of that money was a separate pet deposit. My dogs are not that messy.
*sigh* I wish I could move to Oregon or Washington. I am extremely jealous. Good luck on the rental hunt. oh, and my best experiences with rental homes has been through a rental agent. They can sort out what you need and email the property info to you. I found my guy on craigslist.
We have moved three times since we had our dog and each time we got extremely lucky. It’s amusing some peoples reactions when you tell them you have a Lab and the first thing they blurt out is “Thats not a small dog!”
Is this still Oregon focused? If so, let me know, and I can probably come up with some places to check. (I’ve a dog and cats, so I’ve done the pet thing a few times.)

I know! We only have one dog but it is such a pain to find a rental that looks perfect in every detail except for “no pets allowed” and have to start the search over. Sometimes landlords will let you have dogs anyway, if you pay a ridiculously huge safety deposit. That’s how we got Chloe into our current place. It’s probably a lot harder for multiple dogs, though. -_-
It´s really sad… When I moved out to another town to study, I had to leave my two cats and my dog with my parents, because I couldn´t find an apartment that would allow them and was in my budget. So I can totally understand you… But keep on looking, maybe you´re more lucky than me.

I’ve had problems renting a place that was dog friendly in several states so you probably shouldn’t hold it against Oregon. One apt complex told me they only allowed dogs on first floor apartments and only up to 25#. It was because the sound of the running dogs might annoy the neighbors. I asked if they only allowed children on the first floor with a weight limit. Those little buggers run around quite a bit too.
All the limitations definitely pushed me to buy a house which ended up being the best solution. I wish you well with your rental hunting!
