It’s raining again. What a surprise. I think I might faint from this surprise. It’s not enough that we have four inch deep lake on our lawn, oh nooo, no, we need more rain.
It has come to my attention that tiny snippets of Kate 5 are driving people nuts. I’m sorry about that. Driving nuts wasn’t my intention. I’m just working on the manuscript and I blog about what I work.
So. We can declare a moratorium on Kate topics for a couple of months.
What would you guys like to talk about? I still have some questions about the publishing and writing you guys left me, but I figured you were probably a bit sick of me talking shop.
I also tried to get Mark Del Franco to come over and talk about his book, but he won’t return my emails. HI MARK! If you’re reading this, come over to talk about your book!
So any particular topics you guys want to explore? Do you want to have some light fiction running in small chunks on the blog? Do you want to rid more about knitting? (That sounded vaguely as a threat, hehehe.) All suggestions are welcome.

For what it’s worth, I think a lot of people blog because it’s a way to get your opinion out into cyber space in a way that’s really sort of anonymous. An opinion or comment, followed up by several others, can have a huge impact without any face-to-face dialog or questions. We teach kids about cyber-bullying on social networks and I feel adults use blogs in similar way on occasion. If a majority of your readers- and it seems as though you’ve heard from many of your loyal readers- like the snippets and you don’t mind posting them for fun, I think you should go with your instincts.
Personally, I like them because I like the mystery of trying to figure out who Kate’s talking to, about what, in what setting, and in what context.
the snippets are the only thing keeping us sane as we wait.. no moratorium please.. pretty please!!
Also already insane….and love the snippets!
Regarding snippets. It is like the telly. I watch several different talk shows (Oberman, The Daily show ect) but if the guest or the topic does not intrest me at the time I can just not watch. I then have the option thanks to the Internet of going back at a later time to watch that very same episode. Likewise with your posts Ilona. Say for some reason I decided not to read ‘snippets from Kate 5′ on Monday, because I don’t want to get too far ahead. I can simply not read them, no need for others to be denied their snippet, or for you to get a little feedback from readers. ((OF Course this also means I can give in to my snippet hunger on Friday and like a starving woman go back and read every snippet tagged post in order.))
Weighing in on the great snippet debate. Looks like I am in the minority here…don’t like snippets and usually skim right through them. The anticipation makes my nutz and I don’t like ANY hint of what is to go on in the book.
Oh and would love to see Mark Del Franco here. Bought “Unperfect Souls” yesterday..can’t wait to dig in! Come on Mark!!
I just read this and please don´t stop the snippet joy!
If there are a few people which don´t like them ( i cant imagine that)
they dont have to read the blog. And please *friends* don´t send Illona
Links, if the content is not nice. I don´t want to suffer because of something like this,
those snippets always make my day.
I love Illona Andrews Books, and every tiny snippet i can read<3
I vote for more snippets.
Your talking shop is the best thing about this blog.
Snippets second. (I vote for more. I envision eventually putting all the snippets together, like a giant jigsaw puzzle. *pleasure* It feels absolutely amazing to read something in a book that I’ve sneak-peeked at. So long as it isn’t more than a quarter of the book. More would work, but only if it isn’t in one big chunk. Just FYI.)
The free fiction/short stories run a close third, just in case you are interested.
