Triple Threat

triple-threat
We’re moving 5th of March. Stuff leaves the house on the 2nd and can take up to ten days to get across country. That means from 1st to 12th we may not have computer access.

Galleys for MAGIC BLEEDS ETA 2nd of March. (Will probably have to do them on the plane, since that might be the only chunk of sitting down time I will have.)

Kate 5 draft: due date 1st of April.

BAYOU MOON revisions arrived yesterday. Due date: 1st of April.

Something has to give, heh.

Gordon forbade me to work today. ::stares at the computer:: Hrhm.

Still haven’t figured out what to do about the Edge website header. Been playing with castles Cheese sent. I am at a loss.

Glad the move is going forward for you. Everything coming due at once is sooooo not fun. Sending thoughts of marzipan and cool knitting yarn your way.

  2. Jo

That the move is all coming together = good
    Your schedule = ouch
    Good Luck and Best Wishes.
(If you are still looking for castles may I suggest googling images of Warwick Castle if you haven’t already )

  3. e_booklover

Wow! Glad things are moving forward. I hope the move goes smoothly and you manage to juggle all that can be juggled.

In our move from Hawaii to Washington State we were told 8 weeks without our stuff. We just received an ETA of March 4th — and none too soon because we are feed up with all the “make do” measures that don’t quite measure up to having one’s own stuff — especially in an 1100 sq. ft, EMPTY, house. Can you say echo?

  5. SylviaSybil

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Can you not take a laptop on the airplane?

    1. Tiff

Yeah, you can take a laptop onto the plane. Just don’t have it on during takeoff/landing. Besides when they’re loading/unloading the place they’re absolutely brutal with the bags.

I feel like nothing should be due april 1…its like, is that a joke?

…too bad real life doesn’t pause for bad omens…-_-

Good luck with the move! And the deadlines! You can do it!!!

Hmmm….maybe I should go and do some of my work….

    1. SylviaSybil

Hey now, I was born on April Fool’s. No bad luck about it.

  7. Kalimera

    Good luck!
I’ll cross my fingers to you!

If you want pix of a Welsh castle, let me know. I have some day and night shots of Caerphilly Castle in Wales. Since I was on a photo shoot with a pro photographer they don’t suck.

Good Luck!!!! :D I hope the move is stress free with no hiccups.

  10. Brandy

Bother! That’s a lot at one time! Will be thinking good thoughts for y’all. Best wishes, too!

  11. Brooke N.

Eek! Yay that the move is going quickly. Yikes for the other stuff all happening at once. Lots of good vibes your way. Wish I could help ::feels useless::

  12. CheeseBK

wowza… sounds like a lot of stress. maybe thinking of how much you’ll enjoy your new home will help?

*sends positive vibe* I’m confident you’ll manage… just try not to overwork yourself, alright? *waves*

  13. Sheila

Take deep breaths. Lots of them. Slowly.

Oh, wow. I’ve been offline for a couple of weeks, and didn’t find until just today all the details you’ve posted on your move – Oregon is a lovely place! I live about an hour and a half south of where you’ll be moving to, in Albany. :D Portland is a beautiful city with a lot of neat things, not the least of which is Powell’s City of Books – the largest, if I’m not mistaken, bookstore in the US. It takes up an entire city block, with whole rooms devoted to a particular genre.

We’re experiencing a bit of an el nino year, with spring arriving earlier than is the norm, so lots of sunshine lately with 60 degree days, when usually right now we’d be quite cold and probably rainy. So, hopefully your move will have good weather with it. :)

Maybe this means I’ll get the chance sometime to have you autograph On the Edge or the Magic series (or both!) If you do any local signings while you’re here.

Oregon is not without it’s problems. We have no sales tax – that’s awesome! But our property and income taxes are a bit higher than the norm as a result. Lots of beautiful green all around. And Portland is strategically located an hour or two from just about anything you’d want to do – the beach, the mountains, etc. I was raised here, so I might be biased, but I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. :D

I’m sure you have plenty of people you’ve talked to about OR already; hopefully my rambling about how much I love my state is ok. :)

  15. Vinity

Wow, it’s all happened so fast. Good luck :D

i’m between art projects. want me to take another stab at the edge? :::winces::: i just need sizing and well… what you’re feeling.

and on the move… WOOOT! wow… so so so fast. excited?

ooooooo… i am excited. seriously. and i don’t envy the packing. oh dear god, the packing. but you all will have so much fun in portland.

do you need anything at all?

    1. Gordon

We just need for you to come up and see us when you get a chance. You can drive your sweet mustang or we can just get you a ticket, but you gotta come and hang out with us in the new digs. I don’t think the packing will be too bad, I hope not anyway. What does not fit into the containers just does not come, that’s it. I am even pairing down the sacred comic collection, albeit reluctantly and on Ilona’s orders.

  17. Inkbabies/ Megan

Holy crap! ::sends super human moving/editing/writing vibes::
    Good luck you guys!

  18. ying

    Sending positive vibe! *hugs*

  19. =A

    no computer access?
ok, it’s early and I’m not awake, but I could swear you have a laptop.
I got an internet card for my laptop (cricket was the best deal for me, but check with your cell phone company) and now I can do my homework wherever I happen to be. It’s been a real lifesaver.

  20. Claire

Congrats on getting everything arranged for the move!

All the deadlines hitting is a bit rough. Best advice I can offer is to make sure the teapot is unpacked while your “office” is being set up so you have all the essentials on hand!

Don’t worry about being off line, I am sure we can keep ourselves amused on the forums and rereading the snippets! 8-)
