Yes, I am taunting you with galleys. Why do you ask?
We probably won’t get a lot of ARCs (advanced reader copies of the book). So I am toying with the idea of perhaps making a copy of this mess and giving it away. Two things stop me.
1) It’s loose leaf and hard to read.
2) I really don’t want to find it on the interwebs. Maybe we could sign across some pages or something, so then we’d know for sure that it was our copy of the galleys that was leaked.
I shall have to consult Lord Panda.
On copying the galleys, I believe Nalini does this semi-regularly. Copies to those who will blog, review and otherwise spread the good word on the work. Having participated in the goodness, I heartily endorse it. I’m not aware of any egregious distribution violation, but you might want to check with Nalini on how she manages it?
i love the series, and have become a one number one fan. i would love a copy of the galley. and not destribute it any where. im all about a good read and wonderful story line. i love to escape to the world you have created. i jusy cant wait for the book to come out it killing me…lol..
I so enjoyed reading both the snippets and the page. I, like others, am feeling much better now that the countdown meter is below 100 days. Just make sure that you are protected if you give away a copy. I will try as hard as anyone to win the fabulous prize, but I would rather wait if it means that you and your manuscript are protected. I enjoy reading your blog and forum. Thanks again for great books, snippets and wonderful conversation.

I think anyone who posted the galleys they won on the net would have to be an idiot. For one thing, it would ruin the chances of winning future books in galley form. For another it wouldn’t exactly take rocket science to narrow down the source of leak. Yup, you’d have to be an idiot.
You’d be surprised how many of them exist. Idiots, that is.
On a random side note – why are Luka and Del always hogging the limelight and we never get to see pix of Sam?

I am seriously trying to read the text on the page before…. you can ALMOST see it. Though it is backwards.
I am consoling myself with the fact that Magic Bleeds comes out 2 weeks before the end of my teaching year. It is the carrot that is dangling before my eyes and keeping me going through the rest of the school year.
I really need to send you a picture of my 2 guys, Duncan and Leo. Every time I see Luka, I’m amazed again at how similar the 3 boys are in appearance. Duncan and Leo are the bullmastiffs I’ve written of before.
I am going to find a nice quiet place to meditate. Then when I come back, Magic Bleeds will be available in my local bookstore and I won’t have to wait anymore

Were you thinking of taking pictures of each page? Or typing it and have it in pdf format? With pictures it’d be easier in which you could put a watermark with your guys name on it. I think pdf could be the same. I know with word documents you can put a header and footer, so maybe the same could be done with pdf’s? I’ve never done a pdf before so I’m not entirely sure…

Oooohhhh, Magic Bleeds. Was so very, very good. Loved, loved, loved that book… read it again the other day..thanks again for letting me have it. Can’t wait until I can get my hands on the finished version.

I think the idea of signed non-disclosure statements as entries is a wonderful idea. Also the ideas of signed pages, and leaving out an unimportant page or two. You need to do whatever you have to to protect your product. I hate to sound stupid, but since I have absolutely no idea how to upload anything, how in the world would anyone even THINK to do so? Don’t they understand that if the author and publisher don’t get paid, then they are much less likely to continue to put great books out there??? I mean, who wants to work for free? Love the pic of Luka supervising.
Should I ever be so blessed as to have galleys to review, I shall make a copy, toss the pages in a great big random pile on the floor, and roll around I them like a cat. Just sayin.
Also – as tempting as the teaser page was, I think the hints from the praise page are going to worm their way into my subconscious and feed my obsession.

Though I would LOVE to read the galleys, I am working on my willpower. I am working because if I was to get a copy of the galleys I would have that much longer to wait for Kate 5…and I would be moaning two hours after I got the book…but but it’s all gone!
Can anybody read the page before it. I can slightly see the words but if their is someone with x-ray vision and can read backwards can you please tell us what it says. I’m dying here. Two and half more months.
