I feel better today. I have not yet snarled at anyone. 
It is a beautiful day out there, sunny and overcast at the same time. I’m beginning to think this might be a norm for Portland.

There was some talk about doing an up-all-night thing for MAGIC BLEEDS’s release, where Gordon and I would park ourselves in a chatroom for the duration of May 25th and be available to answer questions. Do you guys still want to do this or should we abandon the idea?
If you still want to do this, should we do it on the 26th instead, so you have read the book? We have a signing at Powells on the 25th, so we would be gone 5-10pm Pacific time, but if you guys would prefer to stay up, we can pull an all-nighter after that.
I think the 26th would be better. You’ll be less stressed from the PAD, and the signing should be a lot of fun, so you’ll be superhappyfunball the next day in chat.

The 26th would be better for me as well – I have a class on the 25th that I’m committed to attend so will be up the rest of the night on the 25th reading Kate. I’ve pre-ordered for my kindle so I’m ready to go!

Whatever works for you is good for me, I plan to sped the day reading the book and then just collapse (its just after finals for me).
I think its a really good idea! It would be amazing. Too bad i won’t be getting the book till a couple of days after the release.. Sometimes it really sucks to live in the UK. :p

The 26th would work better for me, because if you start the chat at 10pm Pacific, it’ll already be midnight here. So maybe on the 26th you could start a bit earlier? I’m not as young as I once was (isn’t that always the case?) and I work full-time, so pulling a true all-nighter during the week is a bad idea. I’m not saying it can’t be done, but my co-workers would appreciate me getting enough sleep.
I think the chat is be a fabulous idea… but since my time zone differs so much from yours, I’m just going to hope I can somehow join in

I just bought the book from BD yesterday and I plan on sitting on the couch when it gets here (hopefully the 25th or sooner like they did The Edge) and not moving until it’s done!
Yes, Portland is almost always like that. Except for the month or so of heat in the summer, during which everyone’s yards die (because we don’t have sprinklers) and in the winter, when it rains the whole time.

I like the 26th as well.
I think the chat should be open for the entire day, with Ilona and Gordon there for a specific time of their choosing. That way people of different time zones (Hi Cheese!) can still talk whenever they can make it.

I vote for the later date also. Give peeps time to read the book. Some of us {with crappy local bookstores} go thru online sources which can be a day late.
One point I’d like to suggest. Why chat room? Can we not do it on a thread? That way it will be much easier for people to access and read back. I guess I’m showing my age but chat room format usually stinks for me. I find people have a lot of tech issues getting drop/closed out. PLUS, much harder to follow if a lot of people are on, answers may come quite a bit after a question. I see it when a group has no online forum home but we do. Plus, this will let people see it later which is much harder in chat room format.
Although I would LOVE to participate, I probably would not get the book until a week after the 25th. =( I kind of don’t want spoilers, so no chatting for me.
