Congratulations on the great news. The book is excellent (my favorite in the series so far), and it definitely deserves hitting all these bestseller lists. I’m still waiting for my paperback copy from Powell’s, but since I couldn’t stand the wait to read the book I purchased the ebook from B&N on Tuesday. I’m almost finished re-reading it. I love that you didn’t drag out the will they/won’t they part of Curran and Kate’s relationship forever, and I love how things ended in this book (Kate moving into the Keep and Curran finding out about her family). I’m a little late coming to the series because I don’t usually really love books when shapeshifters are the focus (not sure why that is) and so I usually find something else to read instead. I finally picked up the Kate series for the first time last week. I couldn’t put the books down. This has easily become one of my favorite series, so thank you for changing my mind about books with shapeshifters as main characters. Who wouldn’t find reading about Curran exciting?

As I have said, LOVED the book. My oversized standard attack poodle Moose keeps making me reread the part about Kate’s attack poodle. Moose is so happy to have a literary hero!

I picked up the audiobook from audible.com as soon as it was released and listened to it for almost 14 hours straight – I couldn’t stop! I’m now listening to it for a second time. Its the best of the series so far and that’s saying a lot considered the first three were fabulous! (P.S. The reader is fabulous and I hope she finishes reading the whole series).
I only began reading this genre of books when all the hype came out about the Twilight series/movies. This got me started and led me to writers such as Charlaine Harris, P.C. Cast, and Kelley Armstrong. I’ve really enjoyed their books and characters but I have to say that you top them all. Your characters are fabulous but what sets you above the rest is the quality of your writing. This last book had it all – a kick ass heroine saving the world with humour, romance, and lots of action.
I’m looking forward to books 5-7 on the edge of my seat and am so happy we’ve got this website to keep us going between books. Personally I’m glad I didn’t find this series until earlier this year since it meant I didn’t have to wait too many months for book 4. I’m looking forward to the next few books immensely but also hope you don’t drag the story line out for too long, losing the impact of the stories.

Seriously this was one the best books that I’ve read this year-hands down. You guys rock. Seriously, not to get too melodramatic but my husband is due to have neurosurgery and I’ve been suffering with lupus and anything that can successfully take my mind off of all of that deserves accolades. okay…. 2 things 1st: Congrats on the list entrance…. you deserved it (and higher that the 11th in NYT) and a quick question…. do international – internet – sales count for those lists?
and 2nd: as i wrote on FB….. I adored this one, i couldn’t really understand where your anxiety on the Action/Romance balance came from…. Skipping that 1st chapters with No Dinner (I have this urge to blame Mahon about it, and not only for the phonecall…. Where did those bears come from????) i had a really good time reading on the Hell-Spawn in the basement (that in the end the bouncer might actually have been right) and Andrea “Driving for clams” was a really good break on the mystery and action…. but i couldn’t wait for kate – Curran dialogues to come up….. Really the “Best equipment in town” still has me rolling on the floor laughing while trying to get a breath and clutching my aching side from laughter…. that was one of the best Lines (make that Dialogue) I’ve read….
In the end I couldn’t put the book down…. overload on action and worry on our favorite Beast Lord…. Epilogue? what can I say? I can only wish there were some real guys like Curran around…. (maybe a bit less control-freaks…) and goodnight for now… I hope I’ll be back more from now on….

Congratulations on hitting it so big! You deserved it. The book rocked my world for a whole day….i had to read it 3 TIMES!!! i know that might have been excessive but i don’t think so. Considering that i had to wait till friday to get it…made a special trip to the city and stupid chapters didn’t have it. i had to get my niece who was on vacation in the U.S. to pick it up and bring it home for me…she bought a copy for herself too! So….bask in your limelight it is well deserved….but hurry up and get back to work. i need a new book ASAp! lol!

I actualy got my friend into the Kate Daniels world, and I found it through Googling for modern day fantasy authors not knowing its actual name was urban fantasy at the time. I stumbled across your old site with chapter 1 of Magic Bites, and was instantly hooked. I’ve gotten my best friend into it, and he’s just finished reading the first On the Edge books, now we are both waiting for the next installment of Kate 5, and Biu Moon, as well as Cassnadra Clare’s Infernal Devices novels. Congrats on the great sales, you guys defintely deserved them!

Congratulations to both of you. I have only read the book once so far but I have listen to the audiobook version I got from Audible.com, three times now. I’m a big fan of audiobooks and the reader of this series is one of the best readers I have listen to. She does a great job of not only the voices but also portraying the emotions of what is happening. These books are my favorite series, Magic Bleeds being the best so far, and I am constantly going back and reading/listening to them over and over again. I love how this book is not just about the Kate/Curran relationship but also has plently of action and mystery.

I love the ins & outs of living in a world where magic crashes in and sends technology to Hell. I also love the wild and mind bending ideas you dream up. A disease that is almost self aware? Wow.
The characters are all interesting but I find Saiman facinating, complex and likeable and then very unlikable. I like characters that are interesting and shades of grey. Thanks so much!
