Please don’t send money or expensive presents

please-dont-send-money-or-expensive-presents
Gordon went to check the post office box.

We’re very grateful for your support and we really appreciate your kindness, but please, don’t send us money and presents, unless it’s something really tiny. And by tiny, I mean cheap.

Once again, we do appreciate it, but honestly, we just can’t accept gifts and money, even if they’re in a form of a gift certificate.

(Margaret, I can’t believe you did that.  Also the gentleman who sent us a huge number of coupons and gift vouchers for Portland, thank you so much, but the only way we can accept would be if you came to dinner with us.)

Please, do not send us gifts.

Thank you so much.

You are both very sweet and very professional.

Perhaps those who send you gifts are overwhelmed by the gifts you send our way – snippets from Curran’s POV, glimpses of your writing processes, heck, the books themselves!

If I could draw, I would gift you a drawing of Kate and Curran, Rose and Declan.

If I could write a song, I’d make up some action folk song – the Ballad of Kate Daniels.

If I could write like you do… well, I’m working on it.

Thank you for the gift of your stories.

Awww, that’s so sweet that those people cared.
As weird as it is, it’s still great that people care enough to try and help you guys out. Anyways, I hope everything works out.

If you can not accept or return donate the goods to one of the shelters abuse or homeless they can use it all and it still fulling the givers intend to help some one

What about an air ship? Can I send you an airship in the mail? Nobody can resist an airship. :) Although personally I prefer hot air balloons.

You know now people are just going to mail you empty boxes.

Something that means the world to me is just a card…writers love knowing that our work touched somebody. We don’t need gifts to be told that our work has touched somebody-just a card, a postcard can say it and the words don’t need to be fancy.

Just a ‘hey…I loved the book, it was fantastic and it brightened my day’.

That sort of thing brightens our day all the time. There are times when those little notes keep us smiling and remind us why we write and there’s no worry of placing the author in an uncomfortable position, either.

Maybe those who feel the need to do more~ I’ve got a number of friends who don’t like gifts but I love doing something ‘for’ them-so I donate to a charity in their name, and it helps somebody, plus many charities will also send to a card to the person I specify…it’s a thought…

You both are very special people who brighten our days with your wonderful writing and effervescent personalities online. And I thank you for that. I may not be able to send a gift, but am sending healing thoughts your way.
