Updated to add… contest is over, effective 8 am EST Saturday 7.10.10~winner names to be posted soon.
So I’ve been loitering at this blog for um…well, almost ever since I discovered the books.
I’ve got a mad, mad love for the Kate books-a serious and true mad love, almost on par with my mad love for all things Stardoc and SL Viehl, and anybody who knows me will tell that is almost slavish devotion.
Needless to say, I’ve been lurking around here off and on for quite a while. Back in April, I was nagging her about Magic Bleeds and she mentioned doing a guest blog here when my next book came out…which is right about…now.
So here I am. Hi. I’m Shiloh Walker and I’m a writer…I write romance. Now, for those who aren’t into romance, don’t flinch…I’m not going to pelt you with rose petals, white picket fences (that would be dangerous) or wedding dresses.
Instead, I’m just going to do a quick run down of some reasons why some of you might find my latest book, The Missing interesting…
Ten Reasons Why You Might Like It:
Or maybe at least you wouldn’t outright hate it…1) There are absolutely NO ‘fated mates’ in this book. Nothing against fated mates, because they can work really, really well when the writer does them well. But they can also work…well, not so well. But you’re safe here. Not a fated mate in sight.
2) She’s psychic…and no, I don’t mean, ‘call me, I’m your psychic friend’ sort of psychic, and she doesn’t see dead people. Well, sometimes, but only when she’s supposed to. And really, it does make sense in the story. My stories tend to make a lot more sense than I do, which is screwier than all get out-not that I don’t make sense, but that I can actually make anything make sense. But I do, I swear.
3) There’s none of those overly wind-tossed locks and torrid clenches on the cover. Is pretty, cool and no clenches involved—just a woman, kind of ghosty-looking staring off into the woods. Not bad, right?
4) He’s a geek-a sexy geek, but a geek nonetheless. And there’s something very appealing about a sexy geek—especially one who can also kick a little butt when he needs to.
5) She can kick ass. Yes, I do enjoy a woman who can kick tail. What can I say?
6) He likes it when she kicks ass. And that’s totally hot—the guy doesn’t get intimidated by the woman’s ability to take care of herself.
7) He can also kick ass. Go, teamwork, right?
8) She doesn’t need a white knight to save her. Which is good, because if you’ve read the blurb, you’ll see that his armor, if he had any, would be rather tarnished, because he’s made some mistakes in his life.
9) They actually kinda save each other…which, in the end, is how I’d prefer things. If he saves me, I want to save him, too.
10) Buying it will helps prevent one more author meltdown. Okay, okay, I won’t have a meltdown, but it came out on my birthday and hey, it would be an awesome birthday present, right?
So there you go…ten reasons to buy The Missing. Or at least maybe check it out. Are you intrigued? Yes, so, maybe so?
To further entice you, I’m giving away a $15 GC to Amazon to one commenter…all you have to do is tell me one reason (doesn’t have to be one of mine) why you might or might not try the book.
And don’t worry, whether you’re interested or not won’t affect your chances of winning-us writers are great fans of all things random. At least I am-randomizer.org is a friend.
Thanks to Ilona & Gordon for having me, to you all for tolerating my rambles, and if you are a little bit interested, you can check out more information on The Missing at my site… http://shilohwalker.com/website
Shiloh Walker
My latest…
The Missing
LOVE LOST
As a teenager, Taige Branch was able to do things with her psychic gift that others couldn’t understand—except for Cullen Morgan, the boy her stole her heart. He did his best to accept her abilities, until his mother was brutally murdered—and he couldn’t forgive Taige for not preventing her death.
PASSION FOUND
Now a widowed father, Cullen Morgan has never forgotten Taige. But what brings her back into his life is another tragic event. His beloved little girl has been kidnapped, and Taige is his only hope of finding her.
A LOVE THAT NEVER DIED
Working together against the clock, Cullen and Taige can’t help but wonder whether—if they find his daughter in time—it isn’t too late for the overpowering love that still burns between them…

Yes, yes, everyone should go buy this book. Shiloh Walker is evil and likes that she can make me cry! I think she may do it on purpose from now on….
The Missing was great, oh and so is Broken. I realllllly need to get to Fragile, its on my Kindle still *blush*
*G* make you cry on purpose? I wouldn’t do that on purpose… not JUST you, anyway…
FIrst, I’ve read many of Shiloh’s other books and enjoyed everyone of them. I’ve read an exercpt and it looks great. I will definitely being buying it.
I think I’d buy your book because (1) The girl can kick ass– yay for butt kickin’! (2) The guy isn’t your usual male lead which I find refreshing. And (3) she’s psychic!
Oh, and I think the cover is cool, it gives a dark mysterious feel.
Okay, guys… I’ve had a blast with you all. Thanks again. Wanted to let you know I’ll be posting the winning name shortly…
