I’m so tired. I think we’ll take a week and just have a nice vacation.

You should totally take a vacation. You guys have worked very hard, not to mention raising 2 kids, several dogs and coping with the move.

I love your little mini-bio, especially the ‘writer of books featuring chicks with swords and monsters who love them’ part. My brain read that, saw the cover of magic bleeds to the right, and thought of that TV series back in the late 80′s of beauty and the beast. My mom watched that show religiously. I totally would love to see some beauty and the beast/Kate and Curran fanfic style. Except, who would be beauty and who would be beast?

Did you know that Beauty and the Beast still has annual conventions run by the fans? This year’s convention was in San Diego and next year’s is in New Orleans. I’ve been going to them since 2003 and it’s now pretty much a bunch of FRIENDS who found each other through their love of the show who get together every July to spend time with each other, make NEW friends (we had 20 con virgins this year!) and have a good time.

Enjoy the feeling of another book complete, even if it needs a little (and probably a lot less than you think) polish. It must be old hat for you by now, but I bet it’s a pretty amazing feeling, if you stop to think about it.
Maybe start with a week of sleep and then have a week of vacation. And ice cream. And WoW.

You should take a vacation, sure. You and your family should go to Florida. We just got back. I think I lost about 5 lbs. (all water weight). Standing in ride lines for hours, is the hot new diet of summer 2010.
I mean, what did I expect? That the new “Harry Potter Land” at Universal wouldn’t be crowded? That Florida wouldn’t have the hot/humid weather it is famous for? THat Universal WouLD haVE a RidE OR TWo that worked?!!!!!!

Congratulations on getting Magic Slays finished. I hope you are wrong that it would need re-writing, etc – I just want you guys to have it published very, very soon as I want to read it as soon as possible! Do you have any idea, schedule-wise, when it might be coming out?
And yes, both of you should take a nice holiday – you girls surely are old enough to cope by themselves for a week or so!
Honestly, it could be 50% less awesome than the first four and still be a monster. Rest, read something for fun, leave it. If anything is actually wrong you will have solutions percolating in your brain while you aren’t paying attention. Then they pop up like mushrooms after the first spring rain.
Relax and enjoy time off. Even if you don’t like the book, we will.

Relax. I have never read a word of your work that I did not re-read several times. I just returned from a 7 week vacation – listening to Magic Bleeds – after reading it in paper and on Kindle. YOU ARE GREAT! I love your interaction with your characters and I am SOOO happy to have you to read and re-read over and over again.
