Husband is scheduled for surgery on the 19th. Get email from doctor. Doctor is in network and covered. Surgery center is a separate charge.
Call surgery center. “Hi, I need to know the charges for this procedure. Give all information.”
Surgery center: “We’ll call you back.”
Gordon, taking a break from editing the beginning of Innkeeper 3: “I don’t have to have it. I never had surgery and I can wait…” Blah, blah, manly things about it healing by itself, blah blah.
Schedule business meeting with the bank.
Surgery center, calls back: “He isn’t covered. Total charges will be this much.”
Me: “Okay. We’ll discuss it and get back to you.”
Call to BFF Jeaniene as scheduled. (BFF Jeaniene is doing as okay as can be expected under the circumstances.) Talk about unrelated things as distraction. Mention surgery.
BFF Jeaniene: What if there are complications? Also anesthesiologist is extra, lab work is extra…”
Call back to surgery center: “Tell me exactly what’s covered in that estimate?”
Surgery center: “The room. Lab work is extra, anesthesiologist is extra…”
Me: “Thank you.”
Call insurance. Identify alternative in-network surgery centers.
Call doctor, leave a message.
Open weird package that supposed to contain Kid 2’s SAT results. Results show subpar performance in English and great performance in math.
Puzzle over the results. Laugh a little bit from shock.
Realize that name on the results says Ima B Student.
Call the school and leave a puzzled message as to why there were no real results and instead we got a sample package.
Call to the agent, check to see if the title of Innkeeper 3 is solid enough. The title works.
Get ready to go to the bank for the meeting at 1:00.
Write this post.
Open thread on the blog today. Please don’t fight. My schedule is full today. 🙂
Here is an awesome house someone on Facebook thought would make an awesome Gertrude Hunt.
