First, we have a change. Susan is leaving us, so we’ll be assistant-less for the next month or so. We wish her the best of luck. We will have someone new starting at the beginning of the new year. Her name is Cheryl, and I think you will really like her. But until Cheryl starts, all of the email is on us, so we’re doing the best we can. Below you will find some answers to frequently asked questions.
Audio of One Fell Sweep.
Hell has no wrath like audio book lovers. No, seriously. Renee is booked solid this year, so the audio will happen, but it will likely be February or so of next year. This is not an exact date.
You so and so, why didn’t you get audio out on time? You should’ve done something to magically open up a spot in Renee’s schedule. Why didn’t you do that?
Because we hate money. Next question.
Print of One Fell Sweep.
The printed book will be available December 20th. Because of the nature of print-on-demand platform, we can’t do preorders for it, but they have the manuscript, it is being designed into a book, so we’re counting on December 20th.
Signed copies of various titles for Christmas.
I wish we lived within traveling distance of a store who would be able to handle that for us. Sadly, our local BN is a bust – we tried. Murder by the Book will do it, but it is a 3 hour drive, which we can’t make any time someone orders a book. Short answer, we’ve got nothing. There is no bookstore within North Austin that can handle this, apparently. I’m thinking of going and talking to a local comic book store. Maybe they would do this, but I doubt it.
The problem is, we are under increasing pressure to actually set up and online store. We’ve been resisting this because I worry about security of taking orders. Also because it would mean maintaining an inventory and actually mailing things. Also the prices. It will cost about $7.00 to mail stuffed Curran anywhere within US. That bring the price of Currans to $19.99. Those of you who have one know – they are tiny. It seems like a really expensive purchase. How do people figure out shipping anyway?
Audio not being available in Europe for various titles.
We have zero input on this. We license the rights to audio company and they either distribute to Europe or not. I have no idea why they don’t. I’ve asked before and nobody gave me an answer.
So there we are. 🙂
