Some pictures

There maybe more.  :D   You have been warned.  Sorry for some fuzziness – Kid 2 seems to have been unable to stand still while taking a photo.  Which is really strange because her photography is usually stunning.

In case you’ve never been exposed to Yo Gabba Gabba, here are some videos.  I sent a link to one of them to Jill Myles the other day at her request and got back an unprintable reply. Watch at your own risk.  Kid 1 and 2 kind of of treat with the same attitude they do Rocky Horror Picture Show and Yellow Submarine.

I am trying to figure out if this is better or worse than Caillou! Makes me glad for no little ones around. I would seriously hurt someone after watching this a few times! Your house looks very festive and that is half the battle!

I never cared for Caillou, he was so whiny, as was Franklin. When the girls were little we watched The Bear in the Big Blue House and P B & J Otter with them. Little Bear was not bad and Kipper was a favorite, we still do the accent, “Tiger, we can’t outside without our wellies on.” Sadly now it’s all Teen Mom and Real World San Diego.

@Colleen oh I hate Caillou too, my toddler loves it tho lol. his voice is like nails on chalkboard to me. I can stand yo gaba gaba for the most part mostly when I have a project due so I need something to help me entertain the little one.

Caillou is banned in our house after the then 3 year old watched an episode featuring Caillou being afraid of the dark and turning on all his lights… she had never had any trouble with being afraid… but that night she insisted she was afraid just like Caillou & turned her lights on to play at 2am. :(

My husband calls Franklin the regret show. I couldn’t stand watching it, but I liked Little Bear better. The Aquabats are awesome on Yo Gabba Gabba.

The lead singer of the Aquabats is one of the creators of Yo Gabba Gabba. He voices Plex; that’s him singing, “Don’t, don’t, don’t bite your friends!”

The guy that did Kipper’s voice drinks in my Husband’s local in Cornwall. I always liked Pig and the way he said, “Ah-dold.”

We loved Bear too. David used to walk around with a miniature version of Bear in one hand and a miniature Tigger in the other. Although he had his own name for Tigger which was “Tah-da Boot.” Not sure what that was about but he also had his own name for “The Wiggles” which was “Zubbah Zubbie.” O_o

I have two small kids and they sort of like yo gabba gabba. But, my daughter LOVED Barney when she was 2. It was the only cartoon she’d watch, over and over again for over a year. My husband said he can’t look at Selena Gomez without thinking of her on Barney.
Now it’s Calliou, My Little Ponies and (my son’s favourite) Toopy and Binoo (over and over again!)

A suggestion for taking good pics of outdoor Xmas lights is to take the picture at dusk. It may not seem like it is dark enough but the pictures appear darker and the lights come out wonderfully. Here is wishing your family a great holiday season.

thankfully I havent had the pleasure of Yo Gabb, Wiggles, Telletubbies, Calliou…I am hoping that by the time my girls are ready to have kids a whole new group of tolerable children’s tv will have ushered itself in….

Oh for the days of Sesame St, Capt Kangaroo, and Mr Rogers …

My three kids range from 3-10, so we did some barney *shudder*, lots of Finding Nemo, then was Dora, now it is Curious George. I’m glad my 3 year old likes George instead of Calliou and Yo Gaba Gaba.

Now it’s 24/7 Blue’s Clue’s for the littlest. I don’t mid it like I have other children’s shows in the past. Especially since his way of asking for it so adorable- to flash his hand’s and shout “Whose Who’s!”
