@Kikukat

The Ghostland series is really good - I really enjoyed the first two although the first book Ghostland was more focused on the sex, the plot/characters was well drawn out but the sex scenes *and I like my smex!* overshadowed the plot at times. I am glad to hear the latest one has toned it down. Jory Strong started off as an erotic romance author from Ellora's Cave but her move to Berkely has been great. Loved the worldbuilding and atmosphear of her books.

I just finished Love in the Time of Dragons last night by Katie MacAlister. It said it was supposed to be the first book in the series, but I was totally lost through parts of it. Pretty sure all the characters are from a different series of hers, and I definitely should have read it before starting this one... Wasn't a fan.  :(

@Has : I wasn't very impressed with the "submissive" factor in book 1 but didn't let it stop me from enjoying the rest of the book. I'm reading book 2 Spider Touched & haven't gotten far enough into it for smex, lol. They just
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
Edit : Okay, so I was wrong :#) I'd say out the 3 books Healer's Choice has the less amount of smex. Maybe Jory got a clue after books 1 & 2 ? I don't mind smex in a book but not 24/7...It especially annoys me when the basic storyline is good but the smex gets in the way. I'm debating whether I wanna finish Spider's Touch or not...I probably will :#)

I think that's the sequel series to her Aisling Grey series.  Can't swear to that but it makes sense, especially since Aisling Grey is about dragons.

Just got my hands on Queen Of Shadows by Dianne Sylvan. Here's the blurb...
Meet Miranda Grey-music and magic are in her blood.
Overwhelmed by her uncanny ability to manipulate people's emotions through her music, Miranda Grey comes to the attention of vampire lord David Solomon. Believing he can help bring her magic under control, David discovers that Miranda's powers may affect the vampire world too...

I think it's a related to the Aisling Grey and her other series (can't remember the name of the protagonist - Playing with Fire was the first I think)
It's not really a 'sequel' per se but I think it's related. I can't recall why - but it was related it. I was going to read it but after the 'Playing with Fire series' deterioated into just 'SEX! Sex! Come and read some SEX! Oh, and a little sprinkling of plot to make it fiction and NOT an erotic novel' ::rolls eyes:: Anyway, I didn't bother but I'm pretty sure its related.

Yes it's related - you've got the Aisling Grey series with 4 books that then moves into the Silver Dragon series with May and Gabriel that's 3 books that then leads into the Light Dragon series Baltic's stories. Apparently they can all be stand alone but having followed the series I would say you would have to read the other 2 first. Recommend Aisling Grey books, can't recommend the first 2 Silver Dragon books but third one is a lot better and I quite liked Love in the time of Dragons however this might be because I knew what was going on

Have started reading I Shall Wear Midnight by Terry Pratchett. Dunno if I've ever read anything by him or not. Here's the blurb from Amazon.

It starts with whispers.
Then someone picks up a stone.
Finally, the fires begin.
When people turn on witches, the innocents suffer. . . .
Tiffany Aching has spent years studying with senior witches, and now she is on her own. As the witch of the Chalk, she performs the bits of witchcraft that aren’t sparkly, aren’t fun, don’t involve any kind of wand, and that people seldom ever hear about: She does the unglamorous work of caring for the needy.
But someone—or something—is igniting fear, inculcating dark thoughts and angry murmurs against witches. Aided by her tiny blue allies, the Wee Free Men, Tiffany must find the source of this unrest and defeat the evil at its root—before it takes her life. Because if Tiffany falls, the whole Chalk falls with her.

Good book!  It's set on the Discworld and technically book 4 in a series but I think you could just jump right in.  Actually I think some people would prefer to start with book 4 since she's older here.  She's 9 in book 1, 11 in book 2, 13 in book 3 and 15 in this one.

*cough* Anyway, it's a good book. ;D

@SS : I'd wondered if there was more to Tiff's story from the references dropped. No big deal since I was able to fall into this book pretty easy without having read the other books. And your right, I might not have been as interested in a 9 y/olds tale.
The humor is similar to Gail Carriger in a dry kind of way. I'm enjoying the book very much, btw. It's kind of refreshing to not have blood, guts & magic being flung about indiscriminately ;D

Ah, well, Sir Terry Pratchett has Alzheimer's, so his estimated dates for books keep getting pushed back.  The release date for the next book is "2011".  The way the Discworld series is set up, he rotates through a cast of characters.  His next Discworld book is about Sam Vimes, and the one presumed to be after that is about Moist Von Lipwig.  His website says this is the final book and there are no plans for another Tiffany Aching book.

The good news is, he's got an amazing backlist.  I think upwards of 40 books. :) And he hasn't stopped writing, just slowed down, so we'll still see a few more.

I finished Blood Trinity & enjoyed the hell outta it ;D It is nothing like the Were/Dream/Dark Hunter series. I think having Dianna Love co-author helped make it different from Sherrilyn's usual fare.
Now I'm deciding whether to read Ghost Of A Chance by Simon Green or Death Most Definite by Trent Jamieson. Who knows...maybe I'll pick up something entirely different to read ;)

I just finished Ghost Of A Chance by Simon R. Green. It was okay...nothing that I would re-read though. The story just plodded along & the characters weren't all that interesting. Quite a few years ago I read a book by him titled Once In A Blue Moon & it was very funny, the characters were engaging & I would have had no problem recommending it. I can't say the same for Ghost Of A chance.
I've opened Death Most Definite by Trent Jamieson. Hopefully I'll be happier with this book :)

I just finished a very fun YA Novel called The Oracle Rebounds. It's a funny story of a 16 year-old girl who runs a teen dating advice website called the Oracle of Dating. But she's blindsided when her boyfriend of 6 months breaks up with her and now she's not sure what to do with herself.   I've become disillusioned to a lot of YA books since what I call the "Twilight Epidemic" where every other YA book is trying to ride its coattails. But this one was so much fun and full of great characters. The writing was flawless and never "talked down" or anything. I found out it was book 2, but I never felt like I was stepping into a dance that's already begun.  Check it out.

@Libby: nope, I have not. Did not manage to find it on the library's shelf but I will keep a lookout for it.. ;)

Just finished reading "Nevermore".. it's pretty intense.. I really love it.. reading it left me with lots of questions but I'll rest my brain for a while before I do a re-read later.  :D

Just going to start "Mind Games" by Carolyn Crane first before I call it a night..

LIONbook After finishing the Chess Putman series I am having trouble getting hooked on another book. I keep picking up books and losing interest. So I am trying something different a murder mystery Deja Dead By Katy Reichs. I hope this hold my interest long enough to finish the book. Chess and terrible keep dragging my mind back to their story. liongrin

Lol, I know what you mean. It was difficult to read anything after that because the story (especially the end of the 3rd) really stuck in my mind and filled me with nice warm fuzzies.
I recommend something completely different - like a fairy-tale romance (Beauty by Robin McKinnley was lovely), a historical/light fantasy romance (OMIGOD, if you haven't already, read 'Warprize' by Elizabeth Vaughn - gorgeous story) or humourous fantasy without romance - Dresden!!! :)

Hope you can push past! :)

I liked it very much, although I was bummed @ the end because
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
I'm reading Forever Crossed by A.Leigh Jones, the story of a "spirit talker" who helps spirits cross over once their earthly bodies have died. That talent comes in very handy in murder investigations, among other things :)

@mrsj : At least Amazon has the story blurb so you know what's going on in the book...a lot of the time they don't show you anything. Example being Pale Demon by Kim Harrison. They don't have a damned thing to let you know what the storyline is gonna be. And the books come out within days of each other >:(

Thats because the book is written by a UK author so it comes out first in the UK and then later to the US. I just checked and the books are avaible at book depository uk site. If that helps.  :)

:P Welcome to the world of geo restrictions. Like ebooks booksellers have to restrict sales of print books as well - I know I have probs getting US editions :S
I would actually recommend you wait until the sellers on amazon get them in stock - funny enough the BD still sells their books via there or ebay/abebooks. That is where I get books if I cant order them on the BD or amazon.

I love this series so I feel your pain!

I am in the middle of Master of Crows by Grace Draven - I am really enjoying it - reminds me of Patricia Briggs/traditional fantasies but it has more intense love scenes. Its very focussed on the characters and I like the worldbuilding.

I've been reading the Jill Kismet series & kept hoping the next book would be different...*sigh* I didn't get very far into Heaven's Spite before I realized it was gonna be the "same old, same old". Well, there is a twist at the end but otherwise Jill runs herself into the ground, gets stomped a few times & otherwise gets no rest. *I cheated & looked @ the end after I got fed up, so I know what happens* Maybe the last book will be different :#)
I have read & enjoyed a couple good books by authors I have never read before. Mark Of The Vampire by Laura Wright & The Shifters by Alexandra Sokoloff. Both are part of series, although the second book & it's series-mates are all written by 3 different authors. The other 2 are Heather Graham *The Keepers* & Deborah LeBlanc *The Wolven* out 12-1-10. They are all set in the same town *New Orleans* & follow the tale of 3 magical sisters who are charged with protecting the clueless humans from the Others who can get fractious now & then. And also keep the Others from whooping on each other...A fun time for all concerned ;)
Mark Of The Vampire has a different spin on vampires & is different enough to stand out. It follows 3 brothers who have escaped from their tortured pasts & have made new lives for themselves.  Unfortunately their peace is shattered by beings from their past who want to use them as assassins/foot soldiers. The next book out in that series is titled Eternal Kiss & comes out April 2011.
At the moment I am just starting to read The Keepers, book 1 in the Keepers series. I read Shifters before knowing it was book 2 but since book 1 is about a different sister it should be all right.

I wasn't too impressed with the last League book (Fire & Ice?) but then I'm not always a fan of novella's anyway.
After Minn's comment and the review on Bookpushers I'm waiting to read Happy Ever After and re-reading the Argeanau series

:(  I sowry... I hope you sorta like it when you read it.  I absolutely LOVE the Argeanau series though. Have you read the new one yet??

I was BLAH after the 2nd book. Let me know if this one is any good. Debating if I should even read the 3rd and 4th... :(

I finished Silver Zombie & it was pretty good. Del resolved a few issues while visiting her home town. Ric discovers new powers related to his dowsing gift.
Then I read Black Wings by Christina Henry & very much enjoyed reading a new author. It is the story of a "soul collector", an angel of death who is also Human. Or so Madeline thinks :) Until her father's enemies start trying to kill her. Then she discovers a whole new meaning to the term Family From Hell. Most definitely a good read :D
I have just opened the first book in the Black Sun's Daughter trilogy, Unclean Spirits. It's by MLN Hanover & another "new to me" author. So far I like the author's writing style & am looking forward to a good read.

A book called Geist, A Book of the Order by Philippa Ballantine. I like it so far; it is very action packed. A good, fun read, but not the best I have read this year, though.

Love that series!!! Branded by Fire is my favorite!!!

ETA: Finished Night's Cold Kiss. It was good. Not Jeaniene Frost standards (IMO), but good. It was somewhat confusing though, the world building was really really involved. :D

The Witches' Kitchen - Allen Williams

I picked up up at the Christmas show at the Farm Show expo.  Lot of neat stuff that some of the vendors had.  This was at the one artist that actually comes to the show.  One of the people who helps her at the stand, her brother-in-law wrote the book and he drew his own illustrations for it.  It's a YA dark fantasy story.  It's really cute.

It's about a toad that wakes up in the kitchen of two witches.  She escapes from them but finds it hard to get out because the kitchen is alive and shifts around.

Hi, i am in the UK (in cold and snowy NE Scotland).  I totally love my Kindle although my bank balance is not so keen on all the impulse buys.  I noticed that some books take a few weeks longer to come out on Kindle edition so if its not clear why they haven't i've started trying to find out if the rights were sold so it could happen, or if its never going to happen - for ex The Iron Duke should be available for the Kindle but in Canada it was out a month later than the paper version so atm i'm holding out for the ebook (and i'm really grateful to Meljean Brook for replying to me when i asked her)   ;D

I would always rather buy the ebook but for some i'm just not going to wait - we're still only up to Magic Strikes being available atm!

In Stolen Paige came off as an eager, arrogant brat.  In the first chapter she binds Elena's hand to the table to prove she really is a witch, which come on, you really had to start a confrontation with the werewolf you're trying to ally?  You couldn't just light a candle or something?  I really hated her in that book but in retrospect I think her character arc there was learning that the real world is a lot different than her council meetings, and most people don't see her the way she sees herself.  I find her more sympathetic in Dime Store Magic and even those who thought she was still too passive and whiny there generally agree she's really matured by Industrial Magic.

YES!!!! It doesn't have A LOT of violence, but there is action.  I would say it is sweeter, relationship-wise than the other.  But I loved both equally!!

If you like novella length reads, their Sanctuary series is pretty good. All the books are about 50k, the first 4 are set in current day. The next 2 are like prequels, and are set in the 1920s. If you want more deets about the stories, let me know in the Moira Rogers thread, and I'll go into more details there!

Started reading a book called Switched by Amanda Hocking.  Not sure if its considered YA, but it is the first book in her Trylle series.  I got it on my Kindle for $0.99 (also available on smashwords).  The book description:

When Wendy Everly was six years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy discovers her mother might have been right. With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - a world both beautiful and frightening, and Wendy's not sure she wants to be a part of it.

About 1/3 of the way done and its pretty interesting.  What Wendy is

is not something I have come across frequently in PR.  The author also has another series which reviewers on amazon say is pretty good, My Blood Approves series, which I might try if I end up liking Switched.

I'm on book 3 in the Allie Beckstrom series, Magic In The Shadows. I'm really enjoying the series so far. Although it'd be nice if the Authority would actually give Allie some training instead of just threatening to :#)

I'm a little more than halfway done with Like Clockwork, a new steampunk from Carina Press. I'm not feeling it as much though as the last few steampunk books I've read.  :(  Dunno why though, it's just not clicking for me.

I'm reading Wild Instinct by Sarah McCarty.  It's three related stories in one.  The characters seem underdeveloped but ah well it gives me a smexy romance fix and it's an easy read.  After this, it's either The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold or Robin D. Owens' Heart Duel.

I read Blood Memories, books 1 - 3. They were okay although I'd like to slap Eleisha upside the head....That girl is denser than oak & won't listen when told that there's danger. She's so wrapped up in her dream that she doesn't take into consideration that the other lone vamps out there might be just peachy with the way things are & don't want to change their ways :#) I'm referring to book 3, Dreams Of Envy, btw. I'll probably read book 4 when it comes out but things gotta change...
Just started reading Victoria Laurie's Ghost Hunter series. Book 1 is What's A Ghoul To Do? So far I'm not getting annoyed by the heroine, which is a good start :)

I read I'm Ok, Your Dead & am about 2/3 of the way thru I'm Ok, Your A Fake by Cheryl Dragon. Unfortunately it doesn't look like she is writing any more books in that series, since the last book was in 08  :( The 2 books follow Dr.Deanna Oscar as she finds out her unknown, psychic grandmother  has died, leaving her a mansion in New Orleans & the monetary fortune to go with it. Deanna is also psychic but was always told it was all in her head :#) Now she is trying to find her place, her balance & keep her sanity while helping the NOPD solved murders.
I realized after doing a search that most of Cheryl Dragons stuff is erotica, but these 2 books are nothing of the sort. For those who like a bit of psychic detective work, ghostly shenanigans  & odd ball side characters, these books are for you ;D

I picked up The Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance to read on my Holiday travels....I know, I know. Those who know me and have heard me rant and abuse anthologies can now pick up their jaws off the ground.  Ginko-girl helped me see the error in my ways when it comes to anthologies. *waves*  It's been a perfect book to take with me as I can read a short story and not get so sucked into it that I don't visit with the family we are staying with and/or stay up all night reading. Although, some of the stories I'm so mad that they are so short......I just want more of it.

*smacks head* It is Winter Moon, not Harvest Moon...I might have Harvest Moon in my files but Winter Moon was written in 05. Here's the blurbs for the authors...
Mercedes Lackey
In an isolated land where the lure of the "Moontide" leads to shipwrecks, a woman is torn between obeying her father or her king. When she chooses to follow a Fool, she discovers magic she'd never expected . . . at a price that might be too high . . .

Tanith Lee
Struggling under the curse of a dead comrade, Clirando, a warrior priestess unready to face the powers trapped within her, must face "The Heart of the Moon" to reveal what has been hidden . . .

C.E. Murphy
In "Banshee Cries," ritual murders under a full moon lead Jo Walker to confront a Harbinger of Death. Maybe this "gift" she has is one she shouldn't ignore -- because the next life she has to save might be her own!

I think that's the sequel series to her Aisling Grey series.  Can't swear to that but it makes sense, especially since Aisling Grey is about dragons.

Have to agree with Libby. I like the Aisling Grey stories (love Jim) but I got a chapter in to the 2nd of Gabriel & May's books & lost interest. I'm sure I'll pick it up again at some point.
I'm reading KMM's Highlander series now. It's not great, it's no Mac & Barron's, but I'm trying to hang in there till Jan. 18th.

I'm reading Ascension by Caris Roane.  A lady I chatted with at a bookstore said she knew the author, who recently switched to the paranormal romance genre.  So, I thought I'd give her a try.

The vampire world CR has created brings to mind J.R. Ward(warrior brothers, bonding scent, bonded male reactions) and Lara Adrian(Rogues.)  The dialogue reminds me of Gena Showalter.  What makes this new series different is that mortals with special abilities receive a "calling" to ascend to another dimension(s) where they become winged vampires on Earth 2 or the other Earth dimensions.  It's much lighter than J.R. Ward.    Plus, the author obviously is a Phoenix native with her use the Valley as the setting for this series.    Overall, I'm enjoying it.  I like the new take on vampires and other dimensions.  It's different.

Anyway, next in my reading queue is Robin D. Owens' Heart Change  and Mary Wine's Improper Seduction.  Then, I'm dying for Nalini Singh's Archangel's Consort.   ParTy

I have to see if I've gotten this one. I got an ebook with for a CE MURPHY story alone and it was really poorly marked. I was having trouble with the ebook finding it. But then I was reading with the itouch. It might be easier to look the Table of contents up with my net tablet.

Deadly Remains by Katherine Bayliss. It's pretty good so far :) Here's the blurb...
There are days when Lire Devon would kill to be conventional…
Espresso at Peabody’s. Lunch with friends. Quiet evenings at home with someone special... Sometimes she’d give anything to be that girl. But nothing is ever that simple when you’re the most talented clairvoyant in Seattle.
Now there’s a murder, as baffling as it is horrifying, and the police want Lire to help them flush out the killer. Well, at least some of them do. Detective Sgt. Vanelli seems a lot more interested in picking a fight than enlisting her aid. This first book in a delicious new contemporary fantasy series from Katherine Bayless is a fresh mix of mystery and romance with a heady dash of the supernatural.

nanners - I think Kleypas is much better at writing historical's than contemporaries. This to me felt more like a Harlequin Romance Series book to me. It was super short for a hardcover, and it just felt.... weak compared to what I know she can produce. Don't get me wrong, it was a cute story. But had I not gotten this one from the library, I think I would have been pretty pissed!

@milo & kikucat - I started reading it, but only got through like one or two chapters before I picked up something else. There was just something about her writing style that wasn't doing it for me. I'll probably try again, because the premise sounds sooo cool. But yea, it wasn't able to hold my interest enough.

Just finished A Brush of Darkness by Allison Pang. It was a good debut, for my favorite in the UF genre, but a good read none the less! There are great gaming and World of Warcraft references, that absolutely cracked me up. And the main character is super snarky, for those of us who love those kind of heroines.

Also finished My Immortal Assassin by Carolyn Jewel. Review is up at goodreads, written with the meager skills I possess in that area.

And last but not least I also plowed through Secret of the Demon by Diana Rowland, and was able to read Bitter Night by Diana Pharao Francis for free. I liked them both.

I'm in a reading slump. I have a HUGE stake of new books next to my bed and nothing looks good. I recently reread On the Edge just because I wanted to read something I KNOW is good. I keep looking at my Kate books and want to restart those.....but I keep telling myself to hold off a few months until it's closer to release day so that I don't go completely bonkers waiting for Magic Slays.

I stumbled upon this author on Amazon, her name is Heather Killough-Walden and she has ebooks on Kindle for $1 to $3.  The editting isn't the greatest so if that turns you off don't bother.  But she has a PNR series called The Big Bad Wolf Series and The Chosen Soul series.  Both I thought were definately worth reading.  I am reading Hell Bent right now that is action/romance about an assassin.

Soulless by Gail Carriger (Audiobook)

I love the language Carriger employs - it just really sets the tone of the whole book, you know? Plus, it has this humour woven into it that's unexpected. The plot's none too shabby either.

I'm currently reading Stacia Kane's UNHOLY GHOSTS and Allison Pang's BRUSH OF DARKNESS.

I started Graceling by Kristin Cashore last night.  I am about 50% through.  So far liking it... :)

I really liked it.....the ending was a bit blah for me (the characters didn't get the HEA that I wanted, but I still liked the book.
I can see why it has done so well.

I liked it, too, and I liked Fire as well, although many say it's not as good.
CandaceB, perhaps that's because there's another book planned following Graceling - I'm totally looking forward to that ;)

Vic is me on all accounts. I did sort of feel Grave Sight was ripping off early Anita Blake before the SMEX/Porn crash but I enjoyed it. I did however only read the first two and never felt motivated to read any more. Are there anymore? I saw were it's being picked up as a TV pilot. I always thought the strongest of Charlaine Harris' work was the Shakespeare series but that wasn't paranormal.

Interesting. I put Graceling down somewhere halfway in the book because I could not stand it anymore. There was one page where the same formulation was used thrice in a row for no stylistic reasons I could find or appreciate. The writing got better after that but the overall memory was disappointing. It just completely failed to hook me.

I'm about 25% in. It's certainly got my attention. It's an easy listen, the writing is very solid. I just had a re-read of a Lord Peter Whimsy/Harriet Vane Gaudy Night not long ago and the academic setting brings that to mind. The Vampire's angst isn't pissing me off yet as it frequently does in Vamp as good guy books. I like the world building so far.  I'm really enjoying the alchemical/science aspects.

I'm not sure how or why this book hits as a HB with this big a splash? How do the publishers tell? I was a bit afraid it was going to be a Twilight wash-out thing but it doesn't seem so. It's good but I'm not breathless yet.

OK, Just hitting the sensory "tasting" parts. Interesting take.

Why not light? How far are you? I'm a little over half way, about 14 hours in the audio of 25.

I went and read D. Harkness bio. She's written a couple of non fiction books and seems to have a pretty impressive career as a academic. The book seems to have been sold to a lot of countries. I'd be interested to find out the publishing story of this book.

Lekismet  hUg2 I hope you feel better. I stay in a certain amount of pain with my back but not bad enough I can't read. Listening is better tho.

It wasn't a 5 star read for me, but pretty close. About 4 - 4-1/2 stars.

reading Amazon Queen by Lori Devoti

Let me know what you think. I read the first book in the Amazon series and not sure if I should continue. I LOVED the concept of modern-day Amazons and how they've had to adapt to the modern world, and the story line was very interesting, but I just couldn't connect with any of the characters. The characters never came alive to me.

Just finished Bonds of Justice, Nalini Singh. I'd had it in my Kindle waiting for a while. I think I'll wait till late-May to start Play of Passion, just so I can go straight through with Hawke & Sienna's story when it comes out.

Now I'm trying to decide what to read next. I got bored with a lot of the longer series that I read and took a break from them. Now I'm trying to decide whether or not too go back to them, start a new series, or read a stand-alone? Can't make up my mind. I have Meljean Brooks' Iron Duke series in my Kindle, which has been getting good feedback. Which- oddly enough- makes me want to wait for the next book to come out before starting it. (I like to read them straight through as much as possible.)

I actually have 3 books in series that I really want to read coming out Feb. 22nd- This Side of the Grave, Pale Demon, and Darkest Mercy- I actually can't decide which of these I'll read first. Probably PD because I read the first 4 chapters on-line already. Then I've got River Marked and Late Eclipses coming on March 1st and I'm really looking forward to both of those as well.

As for now though... *sigh* lol. No idea what to read next.
Here's my choices: (or at least what I already *own* & haven't read yet)...
Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series (I think the short Kitsunegari is where I left off.)
Katie MacAlister's  Silver Dragon's (left off 14% through Up In Smoke)
KMMs Highlander series (The Immortal Highlander is up next)
Then I've got a few singles that were either free or cheap or looked good at the time but I can't remember why now? Or, I could go back to my re-read of the Mercy Thompson series...hmmm...maybe that's the way to go so that I'll be finished by the time of the new book influx on Feb. 22nd?

So, basically, I just wrote out this long post so that I could decide what to read next.  :D

What's Dreams of a Dark Warrior?

Sunscent~ I think the Iron Duke is only loosely connected book to book if it follows the novella to Iron Duke pattern. I think each book will have a different lead character but in the same verse.

It took me some time to warm up to Allie. It didn't really "catch" until after the first 2 books I think.
I love Shame though. As a fellow Jenks-lover, I think you'll probably like him too. They're not the same character, but I think they serve the same sort of comic relief function in the stories.  :)

What's Dreams of a Dark Warrior?

It's the newest release in Kresley Cole's Immortals After Death Series (which is FABULOUS if you like paranormal romance). It follows Regin, a valkyrie and her love, who gets reincarnated every 500 (I think?) years. It's been VERY anticipated since Regin has been in the series on and off since book one (this is book 11) and is a much loved character. I DEFINITELY recommend you pick up this series if you like paranormal romance. SO GOOD!!

I'm finishing off Cherry Adair's Black Magic and then moving onto Regin and Aiden!! *SQUEE*

Dreams of a Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole.   :)

This is what I am reading. I was surprised at the length - the prologue took 10%!!!

Yes, it is a meaty book!  I just stopped myself at chapter 17.  I would stay up all night and continue reading it, but falling asleep at my desk at work tomorrow might look bad.  :P  I will resume tomorrow afternoon.  Off to bed!

I finally found time to finish The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. I really loved it, and the amount of world building is impressive.
