I'm gonna spoilerfont this in case people haven't seen it. Spoilers up to series 4 right before the year Ten just did the specials
Rose got stuck in an alternate universe with her Mom AND Dad {who later had another baby} and maybe Micky in the end of series 3? She managed to make a device to come across with a special device for a little bit during the end of series 4 to warn the Doctor about the Dalek invasion from that alternate world who had managed to come across. {right before the year of the specials} when Donna Nobel was companion. The Hand that got cut off in series 2 when Ten had first regenerated was then regenerated into a second Doctor {Ten} during the process of the Daleks trying to destroy the TARDIS with Donna Nobel in it. That Doctor wasn't full Timelord. I don't remember the particulars but somehow Donna got some of the Doctor and the Doctor got some human DNA. THAT Doctor when with Rose and her Mom back to the alternate world cause he was going to age like a human and that Doctor was viewed as having issues {he wanted to use a gun?} so the Doctor felt Rose could help him be a better person. Donna Nobel could not hold the Doctor's {timelord} view of time in her human brain, so to keep her from going crazy and dying all memories of her time with the Doctor had to be locked off in a part of her brain she could never access. So she had no memory of Ten after that :(  hUg1
That is the basic. I forget complete details of the end of that series as I HATE Dalek storylines. Plus, they brought back all the old companions and I didn't feel like anyone got to have enough storyline. There was a great scene where everyone left takes a part in flying the TARDIS home and you learn it was never meant to be piloted by only one person. That is why the Doctor always jumps all around the console.

ok wow really complex but i remember in the doctor who orchestra thing they showd a scene where rose got shot saving the doctor i think and collapsed in his arms, any explanation on that. also i dont reall follow doctor who tha much but i remeber seeing in the episode with the cybermen and dalek invaison he explained there were multiple parallel dimensions/universes. does that mean when he goes back and forward through time and space he travels on occassion to other dimensions/unvierses or is he strictly travelling olne universe/dimension

He's not supposed to jump dimensions which is where you get him *burning up a star* to send a message to Rose in the alternate dimension after she gets sucked there in the cybermen/dalek war. He takes the TARDIS to a supernova to get enough power to break thru in a hologram for the scene in Bad Wolf Bay. Rose breaks thru in series 4 because I believe the devise they create and the daleks have done something to weaken the walls.

I think the scene you are referring to is when they finally see each other in The Stolen Earth. Rose has broken thru several time that season looking for the Doctor but she keeps finding Donna. Finally they see each other, are running to meet and the Doctor is shot by a Dalek. They take him to the TARDIS and he start to regenerate but manages to stop it.

Here's scenes from when Rose goes to the alternate dimension and then the scenes from Stolen Earth.

I wasn't too impressed with the Christmas one possibly because there were quite a few actors in there I like from comedy backgrounds so I was expecting more somehow.

I really liked last series and the whole River Song reveal

ITA about the Christmas special. Last year's was so spectacular I just think this year's couldn't live up to it.

I've enjoyed both the 11th Doctor's years. I'm such a fan of Moffat and I really wasn't of RTD.

ok last question bout dr whos universe, he goes back and forward through time and space and so do the daleks and others aliens on occassion, how is it that even though they would trvel back in time and alter the past the future never changes even though hes al;resady been to the future of the events and nothing he did or occurred changed

That is a good question. There is constant discussions on this point in all time travel media. I don't think Doctor Who has ever answered it. I know he says some events are fix in time and space and can't be altered. Others can. You notice in the ep when they go back and try and deal with Van Gogh, even telling him he becomes amazingly famous, and bringing him forward in time to see all the people amazed by all his paintings in a show, he STILL ends up killing himself.

on dr who theres always a couple people per episode who die, why doesnt he just finish the mission then go right to the time and point they died at and let them fall into the tardis escort them back to present. in the ep with the titanic reoplica in space all the friends he lost fell over the edge of the thing, he couldve just got into the tardis at the end of the ep and positiond it so they all fell into it insterad of to their deaths, why didnt he, he couldve avoided altering the mission by dropping them off right after he saved the ship????

I thought I'd bump this up. So how are people feeling about Clara? And what about the Timelord at the end? 8.5? The 50th looks to be amazing.

I like Clara, but I think I am in the minority. I am looking forward to the Christmas episode, but I am worried.

Someone had better give the Doctor 12 new regenerations for Christmas!

In the past the High Council of  Time lords did give certain time lords more than 12 lives. As I recall the Master got extra from the classic, and the Vanguard {who was hinted at the Doctor as a bad guy}. Now with the High Council gone I'm not sure the limit even applies.

That does make sense. Clearly the Doctor should have unlimited lives.

I'm not sure about Clara I can't really warm to her much. Looking forward to the 50th anniversary episode. My favourite Dr Who is David Tennant
