Andrea

Sam, one of the readers of this blog, took a stage make-up class this semester and decided to do Andrea’s beastkin face.  She says, “We had the assignment of picking a character from a book that we could make a prosthetic for. Prosthetic is actually the nose and chin piece made of latex and cold foam. I quickly grabbed Magic Burns and read up on Andrea.”  Thank you so much to Sam for giving us permission to post the results.

I think she did an awesome job!

Did you have to go through the process of making a mold of your whole face so you could build the device to fit?

The Makeup job looks good, but the way the light reflects off of it changes what it looks like to me. Without the reflected light it looks like a fur pattern. With the reflected light it looks like burn blisters to me. Either way I still think it is a great makeup job.

That is both very cool and gross at the same time. It makes me think of the Egyptians and the wall drawing of people with dog heads.

Just discovered your books. Wow!! I am officially now a loyal reader.I’m on a marathon read of the Kate Daniels series and plan to buy the Edge books next. I live in Vancouver, Wa too so it’s also cool you’re in the hometown. Thank you for these wonderful books!

Better read them SLOW (laughs) Magic Slays (6 book if you count the novella “Magic Mourns”) is released in March. Far, far away yet.

Once you read them all, it is as stressing as waiting for the next Harry Potter book :) If I had realised before how much I like the series I would have waited for all the books to be published before starting my own marathon. Anyway, hope you enjoy them as well!
