Magic Bites Special TPB signed copy giveaway Contest now Closed, winners announced soon.

So yesterday we got a lot of packages delivered to the door, one from Jeaniene Frost, one from our friends Dina and Slabby in OR, and the last was a big heavy box with what we assumed was books, but we already got our author copies of Steel’s Edge.

“What could it be?” we wondered.

Nobody had ordered anything from Amazon yet.  Turns out it was the Magic Bites, SVU CSI Atlanta TPB edition.  They sent us a good amount of them, and so what else could we do but run a contest?

Magic Bites SE giveaway
Magic BItes TOCWe’re giving away ten signed copies to winners picked by the random number generator.  The contest is open to all, not just US residents.  All you gotta do is comment on the blog with something that makes you happy about the holidays, or some favorite gift you got, or maybe something you’re hoping for.  In light of yesterday’s tragedy, we could all use a little happiness.

Santa isn’t included in the contest, he is there to look pretty.

Contest will end Wednesday morning. Please check the blog on Wednesday to see if your comment was chosen and if so, please quickly email us your address with the subject WINNER.  If you end up being a winner and live in US, we want to be able to send the book to you by December 25th.

If you are on Goodreads, click this link or your comment will not count as an entry.

Happy Holidays.

One thing I look forward to during the holidays is my aunt’s lasagna. Its become a delicious tradition in our family to have it during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers.

  2. I always look forward to making Christmas cookies!!

  3. What I love during this season are the lights and being with family. Best gift/Christmas ever the year I got a Cabbage Patch kid doll when it was “the” toy to have. Didn’t think I would get one and I did. I had and still do have the best Santa EVER!!

  4. I love making jewelry, and lucky for me there’s many women and little women in my family to give them pieces that I’ve worked on. I love watching them unwrap the gift and seeing their faces when they see what I made for them, how they examine and then rush to a mirror to try on and see what it looks like. I love trying to figure out what they will like, I love knowing everytime they wear something I made for them they know it was made with thoughts of them in mind and with all my love as well. And that’s just one of the things I love about this time of year.

  5. This year I’m looking to have my cake and eat it too as they say. I”m hoping I can mange some good holiday pay and time with family. Hopefully the kids will wait till I get home to open presents!

  6. After several work days working late into the evening I am most looking forward to spending an extended time with family and friends playing games such as 7 wonders and pandemic!

  7. Christmas morning always makes me happy. The whole house wakes up early to open presents. My mom makes breakfast for everyone that is there. It’s this huge family get together. I love it and look forward to it very year. It doesn’t matter how old I get.

  8. For most of my childhood, I lived with my grandparents. They came from large families with little means, so I, being their only granddaughter, enjoyed rather extravagant Christmas mornings. Both my grandmother and I had an affinity for teddy bears. Each Christmas, I would receive a different bear. no two the same color, size or shape. The best of these was Alexander Graham Bear, a white teddy with a red scarf. he’s the only remnant of my collection and still feels as cuddly as when I was 12. This Christmas will be our last together. My daughter is 10 months old now and learning to sleep in her own room. I’m looking forward to giving my little Olivia a great friend.

  9. The thing I love most about Christmas is spending time with family. We get to play and spend time together.

  10. Santa’s bringing me a new Kindle Paperwhite! That will make me very happy :)

  11. I can work during the holidays – that will make my bank account very happy ;) I also love picking out gifts for my family and wrapping them up.

  12. My favorite thing about the holidays is seeing my kids eyes light up with their presents.

  13. After many, many, many years and attempts at trying to get and stay pregnant, we now get to celebrate our twin boys birthday on the 23rd. So as I see my babies turn into 3 year old boys this year I’m reminded that all is possible.

  14. I love shopping for others and warpping gifts!

  15. I love it when the summer thunderstorms roll in and I can sit back on the verandah get that little thrill watching the clouds gather and the feeling i get with every lightning strike that hits close by its exhilarating to say the least.

  16. The lovely place between a nap and a deep sleep that you coast upon as you dream of the next Kate Daniel book – that makes me VERY happy.

  17. Pick me, pick me, pick me, pick me, I would be very, very happy if you pick me, pick me, pick me, pick me, please, please, please, pick me, pick me, pick me, pick me, very, very, very very grateful and happy, pick me.

  18. The best thing about the holidays is getting together with my siblings and their families, we are all so busy with everyday life that I appreciate the time we have to enjoy each other’s company and reconnect.

  19. I love giving small but meaningful gifts to good friends & family during the holidays, and indulging in special treats, like baked goods & chocolate. The extra time off from the school routine gives our family a chance to visit with family & friends.

  20. There is a special pleasure the years when just the two of us are together for the holidays. Then again, there is a special pleasure, no there are many special pleasures, the years we are able to get together with those special family members we don’t see often and who are always lots of fun when we do see them. When we get a group of us together in the kitchen cooking, baking, eating, then around the table, eating, talking, eating, laughing, bickering, relaxing, eating, telling family stories, then clearing the table and cleaning up, staggering into the next room, dozing off, watching a movie or TV, reading out loud or silently, listening to music, playing games, doing jigsaw puzzles, walking outside, whatever fits everyones’ moods. We’ll forget (or at least put aside memories of) the fights, the stress, the hurt feelings, all the human baggage and remember all the fun stuff, until next year.

  21. It’s rare that I get to spend Christmas with my family and extended family; I typically have to work on the holidays. This year, I’m very much looking forward to having an evening of family and friends, visiting and eating and playing games. While I always, always enjoy sharing my time with the favorite characters and worlds I escape to in my books – it’s wonderful to spend some time with those I love and remember how very lucky I am.

  22. I love the fact that our little family get to spend sometime together. Give Christmas here is in a midst of boiling hot summer, we usually go away to a beach holiday somewhere along the coast. I just love building sand castle, jumping the waves and allte morning little walks as a family together. Beat any material gifts!

  23. I love getting time off work and being able to spend time chilling with the family and hanging with my friends.

  24. The Holidays give me an excuse to watch The Muppet Christmas Carol…more often. :)

  25. I love how excited students get at this time of year. The youngest are all excited about the prospect of Santa’s visit while the oldest take the opportunity to wear Santa hats and silly headbands to school and anticipate the time off from school. Everyone shows up for the school Christmas concerts and smiles no matter how painful the performance.

  26. I’m grateful for the time I get to spend with my family. I live all the way across the country from them and major holidays are the only time I get to see them (or at least it seems that way). Sometimes skype and just doesn’t cut it.

  27. Katharina S. says:

I’m happy to spend the holidays with my family and that they let me make tiramisu (love it) this year instead of a gingerbread cake. ;) I’m also happy that we’re all healthy this christmas and hope that this remains so.

  28. the best comment i can think of now to cheer folks up si the simplest .. (HUGS)

  29. Christmas Eve Night always brings a smile to my face. It’s the anticipation of opening presents. The late night cookie baking for Santa. The christmas carols on the radio, and the genuine feeling of goodwill with those around you.

  30. Darci Lolley says:

    Peace! And Happy Holidays!

  31. My favorite part of the holiday season is spending time with family. This year more than ever, I’m so thankful for them.

  32. Kaissa Thebit says:

I don’t know what happened to my comment. It did go thru yesterday I checked but I don’t see it now;-(……I would of been happy with a signed book from you. Your my favorite authors right now and have inspired me to write again. I want to be Kate when I grow up.

  33. It’s Christmas at my house this year and as I don’t get to see a lot of my family very often, I’m grateful everyone can make it. I’m also really looking forward to a few extra days off work and the end of 2012 (it’s been a tough year). Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!!!

  34. I love the quiet after all the rushing round – ideal to pick up a favourite book!

  35. Favorite part of the holidays? Looking at the Christmas tree all lit and sparkly before going to bed at night. Favorite part of this year’s holidays? Being part of the lucky few to win this book! :)

  36. I hope it’s not too late…but my favorite part is seeing my children watch their email video from Santa Claus! The look on my almost four year old’s face yesterday was absolutely priceless.

  39. Excited to give my teenagers funny shirts this Christmas – what else to give teenagers?
i.e. “Always give 100%, unless you’re giving blood”
Can’t wait to see their reactions – so fun to have older kids!
