I don’t have anything interesting to talk about today. I went and colored my hair. There was a lot of grey. Then I stopped at Subway, grabbed two sandwiches and took them home. I R Domestic Goddess.
Gordon and I are watching Mindhunter on Netflix. The show is based on the work of the first profiler, John E. Douglas. I tried to read Douglas’ book before, but it was too dark. I had to disengage. It is fascinating, if you are into serial killer lore. Mindhunter the series is also quite dark, but very interesting. It is dramatic, but not quite as visceral as typical Hollywood serial killer offerings.
We are also watching Stan Against Evil. To summarize it, in a town cursed by witches, an older ex-sheriff Stan finds out that his recently deceased wife was actually Buffy and spent her spare time protecting him from an ancient curse. Now, with the help of his daughter and the new sheriff Evie Barret, they must defend their small New Hampshire town from ancient evil.
Okay, so the tone of the story is very much Army of Darkness. It’s absurd and funny. Also, if you ever watched Scrubs, Stan is played by John C. McGinley, who was Dr. Cox, and it’s pretty much the same character, except older and more ornery. The show is way over the top, the evil bad guys always explode on death in a huge grisly mess, and the last episode we watched featured a killer Pomeranian.
It’s on IFC but we’re catching it on Hulu. If you’re in the mood for funny horror, I strongly recommend it.
Well, that’s it, have to go write. Last I remember, Erra was explaining to Kate that her grandpa had a penchant for building pile of skulls. 🙂 Fun times.
Still better than current politics, though.
