Blergh

Blergh

I’m getting sick.  I’m exhausted, irritable, hateful, and not fit to be around people.  I also can’t concentrate for crap.  Do Not Want, Do Not Want, Do Not Want.

Ugh.  Haven’t we just gone through this a month ago?  I so don’t want to be sick.

And how is your Monday?

  2. I’m doing OK for a Monday. Just lost out on an auction and it didn’t bother me. Don’t know what’s up with that.

Sorry to hear that you are sick. Here’s to a speedy recovery. I’m doing surprisingly well. I didn’t get much sleep last night and when this happens I’m usually useless and tired and moody. But this morning I woke up and felt fine. In actually in a good mood. Not sure why.

  4. Lisa - Long Island, NY says:

Sorry you’re sick:) For me, Monday is like a bad tasting medicine that helps make the rest of the week seem less painful. I use odd humor to help me such as fresh/funny “May You ..” curses to use as needed:

“May you grow beets in your belly and pee borsht!”

“May you have devoted children to chase the flies off your nose.”

“May you grow so rich that your widow’s second husband never has to worry about making a living.”

May you grow two more hands to scratch all your itches.”

“Your nose should grow so much hair it strains your soup.”

“May your daughter’s beauty be admired by everyone in the circus.”

  5. Sorry to hear your sick. I’m a teacher, so staying healthy is a constant battle between me and my germ infested students. :)

My Monday was supposed to be awesome, since bad weather should have caused a snow day. The bad weather stayed north, so here I am at school; however, I found a new installment of Innkeeper, so I think I’m going to make it.

  6. So sorry to hear you’ve been sick. We’re in the same boat at out house. At least one person–usually more than one–has been sick at our house since early December. As soon as we start kicking one bug, another moves in. Blah. It’s that time of year. At least we got to see some blue sky today, briefly. It’s been a while. =o). Hope you feel better soon!

  7. Staring at an online class I need, and have paid for, waiting for it to update and show up in my registry. The money is gone but no class… *tries hard not to panic and flail* AND the first assignment/discussion is due Thursday. With so many little people in the house and very little time to myself I’m not sure I can cram it in 2 days. I HATE feeling rushed.

No sick. REFUSE IT! DENY IT! I have 2 extremely drippy noses here. They make Niagara falls look dry. It’s disgusting and foul. Alas, I am the only one to wipe them. BOOGIES AHOY!

  8. Dark, rainy… I managed to destroy pancakes… I didn’t even bother with dishes, I just said: “I’m done.” Blergh is very apt… Hope you’ll get better soon…

    • Oh, I’ve done that. When you make a pancake, and it’s a mutant dough amoeba.

I also destroyed a curry a few nights ago. I usually make really good curry, but this time I tried to put it into slow cooker.

  9. I just got done being sick all weekend. I can finally eat something today, so my monday is actually looking good! Hope you feel better soon.

  10. BC Powder. (or Goody’s…whatever the hell the difference is.) When I have a head cold and feel miserable, I take TWO of those. Gets me through several hours.

  11. Hope you feel better soon.

Good news, baby has started saying Mama now instead of Dada all the time. Yay! She even says it sometimes when she’s not screaming or ticked off. Double yay!

Ick. I hope you are well soon. Monday here is good. Just reading poetry and getting ready to do food therapy with my daughter. Thank you for Innkeeper-it’s like finding unexpected presents for no reason!

  13. Blergh is right. This month I’ve managed to get food poisoning & a cold. @_@ I’m hoping this means the rest of 2013 will be nice to me.

  14. Ugh. I’m lying in bed already, I’ve been sick for the past two days. No fun! Hope you feel better.

  15. I have been feeling unwell, and been on meds since fecking Christmas.I am slowly getting better, but I’m very sick and tired of being sick and tired, and not being really able to much except in short bursts. I haven’t read anything in a month, everything annoys me and I have become a huge Grumpyarse. So you have my sympathies, and I hope you don’t mind me venting as well.

Here’s a clip of my fluffy egit of a dog, being a fluffy egit*, I hope it helps…

  16. Hope you feel better soon!!! No one should be sick near Valentine’s Day!

  17. Hard Monday for me. Have you guys experienced having so much to do and not knowing where to start? I am just sitting here in front of my computer, with my head spinning in 20 different directions and everywhere I turn there is something to do. What do I grab first. What do I update on the website, do I even feel like it? sigh….

    Jen

  18. Sorry to hear you’re sick! :( Unfortunately, I can’t get rid of the bug, either. I keep feeling better, I keep feeling worse. Today is one of those worse days, but I’m trying to get through it at work. Hope you feel better soon! *Hugs and a steaming cup of tea*

  19. Arf.. courage… You’ll win this battle too… Or rather, your body will…
I just hope for you that it will be sooner than later. Anyway, in the meantime, rest well
    My day ?
Well, I went to buy a weekend trip with a night in a castle for my best friend birthday. Sometimes, I really love living in france, because we have those amazing places and those castles as well.; it will make a very special Bday present.. :)
    Just hope she’ll enjoy it.

Sick is never fun. Sometimes you just have to get through one hour at a time (sleep a lot) and you’ll feel better before you know it. Maybe when your not sleeping you can read a good book…smile.
    Good luck!

  21. Sorry to hear all of you are sick. I had a flu shot this year and so far I’m healthy. Considering the shots only protect you from about 65% of the germs that are out there, I consider myself lucky. I work at a University and am around a bunch of snotty nosed young adults…you think it is bad being around sick children, sick college students are even more disgusting! LOL!
Anyway, I wish you all a speedy recovery and a happier Tuesday.

  22. Mondays just suck >_<

I’ve been doing this the last two weeks. And yes, I think I did this just a month ago. And I was soooo hoping for a fresh start to 2013 :-) Mondays should be outlawed.

  24. Sorry about being sick. Mine lasted three weeks. First the cold then the flu on top the cold. Got rid of the flu still had the cold. Seriously sucked. As fr Monday, my best friend just moved to Oakland and I had to work all weekend with a chef I hate so yeah, it could be better.

  25. So sorry you’re not feeling well. It really makes Monday worse than usual. Maybe it would make you feel better if you wrote some more Innkeeper……….

  26. My Monday got off to a great start for no particular reason. I was just happy to see it. After reading through the posts just now I think I feel a cold coming on–or maybe the norovirus. I’m feeling quite frail in all honesty.

  27. Sounds like we’re having the same day. I’m trying to beat mine into submission by ignoring it. Not helping with the focusing.

  28. Well, my great-niece and great-nephew were born a week ago (6 weeks early and each is <5lbs.). Found out we will probable be able to bring both home on Wednesay!!! Panic!!!!!! Much to do here is Lewisville, Tx. Happy and scared at the same time.

  29. Being sick is no fun, I hope you feel better soon.
It’s my niece’s thirteenth birthday, so I’m picking her up after school today and taking her out to dinner and shopping with the aunties!

  30. Shonda Abercrombie says:

Mondays are my day off, so I wash clothes, towels, sheets, dog beds, grocery shop, pick up dry cleaning, cook dinner and whatever needs to be done. Just let me say how beautiful it is outside, blue skies, hot weather, and cool breezes. I am stuck inside.
I hope you feel better, I hate getting sick because I still have to do all these things or it gets worse later.

  31. I’m feeling yucky but sort of hoping the reason for it is after trying for nearly six months it means I’m pregnant. I’m due for my months visitor in two weeks and will take a home test next week since First Reponse is supposed to tell you up to a week before you missed period, so *deep breath* here’s hoping. Other than that it’s ther first day of another three week program for soilders with PTSD. We’ve moved into our new house and have adopted two dogs and my folks come next month with furniture. :D

Hope you feel better! *warm healing thoughts heading in your direction*

  32. Feel better! Try drinking tons of black tea with lemon & honey! Don’t know if it actually works but it tastes good! :)

  33. Yes, what is this bug/flu/cold/ whatever? Just when you start to feel good, it hits again with slightly different symptoms and saps your energy. I just like to think it’s running through a whole bunch of things now and the rest of 2013 will be healthy.

  34. I thought that I was getting sick last Thursday, so I turned to the Vietnamese version of matzoh ball soup and had Chicken Pho. And – it worked! After eating it for two days straight, I felt better by the third day. So – some people might put this in the same category as acupuncture, but I still think it’s worth a shot. Feel better! :-)

  35. Suck-a$$! I hate Monday harder with every one that passes. It’s not the day itself, mind, just what it represents. Returning back to effin’ work with effin’ people wanting me to effin’ do stuff!!

I can feel the estrogen seeping from me as we speak and turning me into a devil-pig-hose-beast. :(

  36. What you need is a “poor baby”
POOR BABY! Hope you feel better soon.

  37. Readsalot81 says:

I’m sorry that you’re not feeling well :( I hope you recover soon! All of our company left! :D lol We had 9 extra people crammed into a 3 bedroom house for a few days. It mostly wasn’t so bad, but damn, kids can be noisy. It’s been a decade or two since my brother and I were that young.. Went to Disneyland as it rained.. which, incidentally, if you have to go, is really the best time TO go. No wait time on rides. And their firework show was made of AWESOME. Now it’s time to clean.. >:( Went to the gym. Very crowded.

  38. I’m sorry that your Monday is not so great. My Monday it’s being magical because today I got the result of my entrance exam from college and I made it! For the next four years I’m studying audiovisual production focusing on screenwriting!

I hope you get better throughout the week!

  39. the worst days are the first five days after weekends ;-)
I hope you´ll feel better soon!
I worked at the weekend, had a lot to do. Today was pretty lame after that :-)

  40. I highly recommend taking “Emergen-C / Immune+” durning this season with so much going around. Just mix a packet in water, 1 or 2 times a day – nice citrrus flavor too. Good stuff…..especially if you’re a little run down or stressed.

  41. My best wishes to everyone who is trying to get over the crud. Have you seen the news blurbs on the influenza sorbet?

I had a corneal transplant on Weds. of last week and I’m still getting over general anesthesia and dealing with pain killers making me woozy. Here’s hoping this corneal transplant works out…it is my 4th since July 2012! I am so over going through surgery and recovery. I tried to work from home today, but wasn’t terribly productive.

    • kitkat9000 says:

OK, I have never heard it referenced as “influenza sorbet” so that’s definitely new.

I so hope this transplant “takes” and you can get off the not-so-merry-go-round. That has got to have been a hellish 7 months for you. Best wishes!

      • Thanks kitkat9000 for the good wishes.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams in Columbus, Ohio is releasing a product they call “Influenza Sorbet” – a blend of Maker’s Mark bourbon with lemon juice, honey, cayenne pepper, and ginger. Sounds good (except for the cayenne pepper).

First day back to work after vacation woes. Can’t really complain. Hope you feel better!!

  43. I hope you feel better! My day was incredibly busy, but that’s better than being bored at work, yes?

  44. Sorr y you aren’t feeling well. I just got over a cold and will probably get sick again as I just started working in a preschool, the whole class is coughing add in the stress of my final semester in college before getting my associates, and my immune system is run down.

  45. Hope you feel better! This flu/cold stuff has been evil. If it will make you feel better, I STILL go back and read the part in the innkeeper where Dina teases the werewolf with the patio. Makes me LOL every time he jumps straight up! Feel better.

  46. Holly Denghel says:

I feel ya. I finally ad to accept that this wasn’t a cod that was going to go away and go to the doctor today. Sinus infection and antibiotics. Grrr. I live Austin, but the allergies are gonna kill me.

  47. Getting sick while fighting the evil Home Depot, not good. Hope you feel better soon.

  48. cool_gal95 says:

Since it’s monday, I figured it was bad enough already, without adding school into the equation. So I skipped and slept till 11am (which I should NOT have done considering I have my tests in about two weeks).

Sorry to hear you’re sick. get well soon!

  49. Hope it’s just a fluke and not the flu!

  50. Misery loves company, even when company doesn’t reciprocate. I did a go round with what sounds like a similar bug in early November, and am now doing it all over again – started antibiotics again yesterday. It’s a hideous way to have spent the best weather of our Southern summer, and I’ve still got our Winter to look forward to :-( All right, enough of my Pity Party, nobody else wanted to come anyway – I send you warm wishes for a speedy recovery with no relapse or cross-infection with family members. And antibiotics have their place in the world, however uncomfortable I am about them.
