I’ve come to the conclusion that there isn’t a cover in the world that you guys won’t complain about, send me emails about, demand changes to, and offer your own version of. Even the Innkeeper cover, which is gorgeous, has somehow displeased several of you. Next time you’ll get a blue rectangle with the title on it. ;P
I have Magic Breaks cover, but I am not revealing it. RT blog graciously agreed to take it off my hands. They will reveal it on October 31, I will post the link, and you can hate with the passion of a thousand suns over there, where I won’t have to look at it. 🙂 There, it has Curran on the cover.
Poor Curran. Kate really does put him through his paces.
“Don’t die on me.” He kissed my face, pulling off his jacket. “Don’t die on me.”
Hehehe. <—-Evil Author Laugh.
I think that’s why I like working on Avon book so much – the heroine is so different from Kate and it gives my brain a much needed break. Well, the magic goodness, new cast of side characters, and a fun new world helps too. Kate sees a giant world-devouring terrestrial octopus and gets her sword. Isabella has a family to take care of. She is pretty grounded.
I raised my hands in the air and backed away, toward the exit, making sure the camera in hotel lobby had me in plain view. Behind me the door hissed as Liz made a break for it.
“It’s over, Mr. Rutger. I’m not a threat.”
“You nosy bitch. You and that harpy are in it together.”
At the desk the concierge frantically mashed buttons on a phone.
If I were on my own, I’d turn and run. Some people stand their ground no matter what. In my line of work, a stint at the hospital, coupled with a bill that you can’t pay because you’re not working, cured that notion really fast. Given a chance, I ran like a rabbit. But I had to buy Liz time to get to her car.
Still working on query hooks. More on that tonight.
