Chapter 2 Part 2

If the book was complete I would cancel my afternoon – to see what mommy dearest thinks of Maud. But to wait for the complete book – we wouldn’t get these delicious bites of what is to come! So hard loving the serial form of this amazing series.

I’m about to head off to a device-free weekend looking after 40+ beaver cubs. I had my fingers crossed this was not the week the instalment was delayed until Saturday. Thank you for my last enjoyment of the Internet until Sunday afternoon.

Beaver cubs??!! That sounds like a weekend of cute. Where can I sign up?

I’m a volunteer with Scouts Canada. Our Troupe is very large with a mix of boys and girls (Canada being more progressive than the States, Scouts Canada has had mixed genders for decades) ages 5-7. They are cute. I am also a Cub Scouter (ages 8-10) and find there is a lot more attitude there. We are off to do snow-shoeing, hiking, shelter building, indoor snowball fight with socks, weaving and making S’mores and baked oatmeal apples in coals. Hopefully the weather stays nice. Just 7 days ago it was -30 plus the wind chill but today was a balmy 9C and people were out in shorts and flip flops. It should be tiring but lots of fun.
If interested in volunteering you don’t need to have a kid in the program. My kids are in Cubs but I enjoy the Beavers so much I have stayed. We have one Scouter that has been involved for 30 years!

Sounds wonderful and kudos to you for volunteering and being involved!! I just recently retired from teaching middle school, so have many years experience with the age group (8-10) plus a year or two older, and YES – they do have a LOT of attitude!! But, they are also a very great age to work with if you can get past the attitudes. 😄 The kids are lucky to have you and I hope you all have a great time!!!!

They AurthorLords aro so good to us!
This post does lead to a VERY interesting questions: how did Earth get it’s protected planet status AND who negotiated the treaty with the Senate? Also, how long has the treaty been in effect.
Thanks again [loving Fridays again]

Oh I just love the story. Thanks so much for your work!

Thank you!!!!!!!!!! (Contented sigh). That was delightful, and much appreciated!! You really are such TALENTED authors!! I am certain you put a lot of hard work into what you do, but you have a true gift for creating worlds and characters that draw the reader in immediately and make them care about them. I am in complete awe of what you do, and as a very avid reader so very thankful that you do it!!!! You are also very kind to your devoted readers – and speaking for myself it is greatly appreciated!
I hope your temperatures are becoming more normal for your area and that you aren’t too sore after your unintended calisthenics with the ice and the vehicle door!

dumb question – will these snippets be in the upcoming innkeeper book or are these just extra? Thanks.
January 20, 2018 at 11:05 am
These are not snippets. This is the entire novella posted as it is being written. http://www.ilona-andrews.com/innkeeper-chronicles/

I love that Arland and Maud communicate like grownups, even though it’s scary to contemplate. Thank you!

They have the makings of a real political and warmaking powerhouse. They both are no one’s fool. Good fighters too. House Krahr may end up expanding out of this if they and Lord Soren listen and use Helen to listen to the two houses here for the wedding.
Soren can make sure she can get to Arland when there is something to report. That kid has lived through the results of treachery., I can see her complimenting the bride while sussing out where their weapons stash is hidden. If any of Mauds inkeeper powers can cut in, she and Arland could cause quite a bit of creative chaos

Will we get any of Dina and her inn into that story plot too?
January 24, 2018 at 8:44 am
I’ve been busy. I missed that you started this. I was thrilled to find it.
I love Maud and Arland. I would love to see them have their own actual spin off universe.
I’m a bit blood thirsty and heroey so this part of the Innkeeper universe with less sugarplum and gingerbread really appeals to me.
That said I live in a giant victorian house that could be a b&b

I own all of your published books and short stories. I love what you and Gordon do. The hardest part is the wait for new material. My mind is racing with all the possibilities of where this story could go. I can’t wait to see where your imagination will take us.
Thank you for all the adventures you take me on.

I’m glad this title works for you. I love Maud! I’ve tried emailing my information to the email address provided above but in all three cases I receive the message ‘Address Not Found.’ There isn’t a place on FB to leave a private message, so if you could provide an alternative email that would be fantastic. Thank you! I’ll treasure the books.

Phew. Arland is worthy of Maud and Helen.
