@ Nicole I think what you meant was: SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
I think Nicole was talking about what happened after Andrea and Aunt B “chatted” on the stairs. We never hear anything mentioned after that about the boudas working it out.
grrr …still waiting, too! BOL usually is very fast but now I got an email telling me that “they are sorry for the delay”.
*feels claws under the skin of my hands*
I debated about leaving this comment. I know that you have said before that you have no control over the formats that your publisher chooses to release the books in. I know that I occupy a segment of the population which is very small and very easy to overlook because I am blind. I love your books, and, as soon as I have been able, I have purchased them in whatever format was available to me. I understood when your publisher started only offering the ebook formats of epub and pdf because most people could read them, and that was all right because I was still able to download the audio book of Magic Bleeds the day it was released. I didn’t even complain too much when you guys didn’t provide volume 2 of Curran’s pov in an accessible format because I was able to read the povs on the blog. When I have time, hopefully this weekene, I will hunt down your publisher’s page and complain to them, but I just don’t understand why a downloadable, easily read by all, format of your books was not readily available when the book was released. I apologize for venting here, and I really do appreciate you guys and your efforts to give back to your fans. I’m just really frustrated, because I can’t read Magic Slays, and I was really looking forward to it.
I was in Tulsa, OK on Tuesday the 31st, WalMart didn’t have Magic Slays, Target didn’t have Magic Slays, and then B&N didn’t have Magic Slays. Although B&N did tell me that they got a shipment in and were suppose to have 13 copies, which might be in the boxes in the back. However the boxes were not labeled so they really didn’t know, but they could send a copy to my home which would take between 2 to 5 days if there were copies in the unopened boxes. I had my nook with me so I downloaded it in the store. Loved it. So will just wait until I can find it in a store near where I live in Stilwell, OK for my printed copy, or I might have to make a trip to Arkansas this weekend.
I’ve run into the same problem . I don’t have a way to ebook. I’m tactile and like having a book in my hands. I also try to support more local bookstore rather than ordering them online, but so far, nobody has it. They say it’s coming, and will call me when it’s in. But right now I can’t get my hands on the book and I’m frustrated and sad about it. Don’t know if I should just order one from Amazon? But with my luck, It’ll arrive the day I get a phone call. This has been the biggest incentive I’ve had to actually get a Kindle/ Nook etc. but I prefer the actual book. Oh well, looking forward to reading it if a copy ever gets to my area….
How far into Arkansas will you go? The Bentonville Wal-Mart had some, and so did the Target and B & N. I grabbed mine at the Wally World’s, but saw the others as I was out and about.
I just read Magic Slays, it was….meah….just kidding lol, it was just I need it after all that waiting, a little disappointed about Rafael, but a wonderful book, THANK YOU.
Loved it! Nook delivery in wee morning for which I’m thankful for as I stayed home due to evil sickyness (technical term). The repercussions, the fact that the best way to keep a secret is to not share, the witches and their diabolical scheming–nail biters for the next book and made the wait for this book totally worth it. Will get it in paperback too as you’re one of the few authors I still collect that way. Thanks for the such an entertaining series.
Got the book in the mail yesterday and read it. It was AWESOME!!! Thanks for serving up another great book to your fans and I look forward to the next installment.
I spent so long on the couch yesterday inhaling Magic Slays that I have a tender behind today. But it was so worth it. I loved Magic Slays. Absolutely brilliant. Thanks so much Gordon and Ilona.
Just wanted to let you guys know that your book sold out at one of my local bookstores, on the day it was released! But the nice people there called another local book store for me and reserved a copy, so I did get it after trying three different stores. Yay! I’m loving it so far, trying to take my time so I can really savor it.
Haven’t finsihed it yet but I love what I have read. B&N seems to be having issues.I went to my B&N yesterday to get the book and they didn’t have any in stock. O_O They had it on order but somthing had happened and they had to reorder it and it would up to a week to get it. So ta-da downloaded it on my nook and viola it’s mine. Hardcopy is also on reserved so I will soon have both.
For those not finding the book at brick and mortar stores. I went to Hastings. No book. So I asked where it might be. Hmm… they have 8 copies left. They were not with the rest of the books in Sci-Fi/Fantasy section. Nor the end cap featuring “Girls who kick”. There were previous books, but not “Magic Slays”. Know where it was? In ROMANCE. ??? Go figure. But, check the romance section.
Good question – I’m falling out with Amazon over this and I’ve been requesting Magic Slays on Kindle from them ever since it went up on their site. I just email them to moan, although I’m pretty sure they’re not bothered Chantal recently posted..Planner or Pantser
Okay, guys, I’ve explained this numerous times now. US Kindle version is up. UK version will not be up until UK publisher purchases the rights.
Paste: Our UK publisher is Orion Book (Gollianz.) Click this link to see our page there. As of April 1, 2011, Gollianz purchased the rights for the first 3 books in Kate Daniels series and released them with UK covers, also providing e-versions of the books to UK audience. For MAGIC BLEEDS and MAGIC SLAYS to become available in e-format, Gollianz would have to purchase the rights to those books.
We are so sorry, but we can’t release e-versions of these books on our own.
Sorry Ilona – I’m not directing my woe at you guys, just the middle peeps. I shall go and beg and plead with the UK publisher to stop scrimping and buy the rights. Failing that I’ll have to suck it up and buy the paperback which I promised my hubby I wouldn’t do if he bought me a kindle. I mean, really, I already have the rest of the series in paperback so he probably won’t even notice… Chantal recently posted..Planner or Pantser
Thank-you, thank-you for Magic Slays! It was wonderful. I am currently overseas, so I unfortunately have to wait for my paperback copy till I get back to the States, but thank God for Nook. I hope all the others who have posted here will be able to get their copy soon. Best of luck!
Loved it. Got it just after midnight on my iPad… Gotta love Amazon. Read it too quickly and am now re-reading it. Im sure you’re exhausted, but I already hunger for the next one.
Yeah!!!! This is my happy dance! Great development this time around with Kate and Curran. Now are we going to be treated to more Curran POVs to lessen the pain of waiting for Kate 6?
Loved the book. It downloaded onto my Kindle early on the 31st, and I got up at about 4:30 in the morning so I could start reading it before work. I finished it yesterday, and just loved it.
WIll post it here, since I have to, and I hope I won’t spoil anyone’s fun, but…

OMG! My book came in today by some miracle, it is here !!! Checked mail yesterday, no book, junk mail & bills only Canada post went on strike last night…but our post office was still open today? So what the hek I will check again and what luck, it was there! O_O perfect timing too, calling for 2-4 cm of snow this weekend(again???tho I’d rather have snow than rain) and I have the perfect book to bundle up with . Happy weekend everyone!
Oops.
My sad face was for the junk mail and bills, not the post office. I hope the carriers get what they are fighting for, because it is unfair and even dangerous (especially in the winter) for them to be carrying the extra loads they have been subject too.
My B&N didn’t get their shipment in because of Memorial Day!!! They had seven copies coming in with two of them already spoken for. Fortunately, I got the call last night that they finally got their inventory so first thing tomorrow, I’m rushing out for my copy of Magic Slays!!! Can’t wait!

LOVED IT – ya’ll are the best!!!!! I had the same issue w/ B & N – had to drive all over town to find it elsewhere; totally worth it!!!!! Thank you:)
