We had a nice, low-key Christmas. I opened my “sea foam green” yarn. Here is the sampler. Gordon bought more than one skein of some of these and a lot of what he bought very nicely coordinates, like the pink and grey blue in the middle row. I started a Hitchhiker Shawl with the yarn that looks like Christmas lights. Gordon got a significant amount of reinforcements to his action figure army. We bought the kids some really cool stuff. The oldest is on a humidifier kick, so she requested a humidifier and humidity monitor for her room. I don’t even know what the optimal humidity is.
Today was quiet day. The kids are at an age when they go off to do their own things during the break, so yesterday the youngest took off to spend some time with her boyfriend and his family. They sound like lovely people. We haven’t met them yet, but we did meet the boyfriend and he’s smart and kind and has a lot of patience. Kid 2 requires a lot of patience.
We worked out and then we went to have a nice lunch all together, before everyone ran off in different directions. My Caesar salad was really good. We came back, and I dragged Gordon away for a nap and fell asleep. Woke up three hours later minus Gordon but with half of the animals we own in bed with me. I guess I was tired.
Now I have to work. Wildfire requires words to be made.
I’ve done some thinking about the amount of my life I spend in front of computer, and come to the conclusion that I needed to limit it. So I’ve been rationing the computer game time. Also there is nothing cool out. I bought Planet Coaster but for some reason it’s not catching me. I’ve played for about 15 hours and now I am meh about it. I took up painting. No, I am not showing you, because I’m not very good and because it’s something I really enjoy, and I’m sure the moment I blog about it, I’ll get a bunch of suggestions and critiques that will kill all joy of it.
I have all this yarn and I would really like to watch something cool while working on it. Or listen to a cool audio book. Any suggestions? I really love the Great British Bake-Off, but I watched all of the seasons available on Amazon. Something not grim. We’ve got a enough grim going on this year.
I’m really enjoying Flash, but that’s something we watch together, and I need something I can just stream on my laptop while he plays. We both watched Luke Cage and enjoyed it. We both hated Jessica Jones with a passion.
Also, I have to ask for the recommendations on Jayne Ann Krentz. By the way, she talked to me on Twitter the other day. Achievement unlocked. So far I’ve read Wildest Hearts, Perfect Partners, Truth or Dare, Light in Shadow, Smoke in Mirrors, bunch of Jayne Castle, Trust Me, Grand Passion, Absolutely Positively, and Hidden Talents. She has an extensive back list and I loved Grand Passion and Absolutely Positively, but Sweet Fortune didn’t quite work for me. So if you are a JAK fanatic, what are your favorites?
