Thank you for this installment. How foreign and strange it is feeling Safe with someone is a sentiment that really resonates with me. Thank you once again.

In light of the challenges you’ve shared regarding other inconsiderate readers actions this week I’m left feeling relieved and (continually) grateful for another installment in the story. With increased interest sometimes comes increased trouble, but I hope that you may choose to continue sharing pieces of a beloved story with us all. I plan on purchasing the final edit as soon as it’s published, looking forward to that as well. 😊

March 9, 2018 at 3:09 pm
Thank you both. Lovely installment as always.
No one even cares that Maude still hasn’t met Arlands mother, the Lady Illimena. I wonder how much she knows of what is going on in her house, the salad, the lees not coming to dinner, the wedding parties lack of finesse?
Tachi, Lees, Maude and Helen will all make formidable allies for the House Krahr.
March 10, 2018 at 7:24 pm
She is head of her house. She knows all. She should be glad to have Maud and Helen as part of her family.
March 9, 2018 at 3:10 pm
😀 Thank you!
Sparkly emo vamps, though – really?
March 9, 2018 at 3:12 pm

Once again, a superlative graphic for this chapter part. I enjoy the selected illustrations as much as I enjoy the written words. *sigh* You guys are great.
March 10, 2018 at 7:25 pm
Did you go to the home page and see the cover for Sweep of the Blade. Fantastic. Loved it.
March 9, 2018 at 4:38 pm
Thank you! If it helps, I love reading the Innkeeper stories as you write them, and I’m always thrilled to buy them when they come out in the final versions. I’ve got all of them on my Kindle, and assume of them on my old broken Nook.

March 9, 2018 at 6:45 pm
Thanks so much for your talents are truly amazing. So sorry someone had to spoil things but I am thankful you released this chapter. It’s a lesson in patience to read this way but I am learning to truly savor the beauty of the story rather than gallop through to the end.

Thank you so much!
March 10, 2018 at 1:30 am
Thank you for this installment and sorry for the dishonest people you came across today. For what it’s worth I think majority of people are honest and for every pirated copy there’s a slightly obsessed fan who owns paperback, kindle and audiobook versions of the same books of yours so it’s all evens out.
March 13, 2018 at 11:49 am
I’m sorry – I just have to politely disagree with you Victoria. I don’t think ANYTHING makes stealing their work even out. I always end up purchasing a hardback or paperback copy, a nook, and a kindle version of each of their books. I do not feel like I am entitled to a free kindle or nook version of their works just because I purchased a different e-version or hard copy of that book. These authors work hard and only receive a portion of the sales as it is. I believe they richly deserve each and every cent they receive, especially incredibly talented authors such as our beloved Authorlords!! Gordon and Ilona are also extremely generous and accessible to their fans, and should not be taken advantage because of that. Absolutely MOTHING in my mind makes it ok (or evened out) for someone to steal from them!!
Ilona and Gordon, I am so sorry that this happened to you (along with the person selling “autographed” copies of your work on eBay). I am sure you feel violated, as you have every right to. Thank you for your continued generosity of posting these chapters despite these occurrences! Your true fans are so grateful – as well as outraged on your behalf!!!
March 13, 2018 at 11:57 am
Ok, I guess I had to have at least one typo or “autocorrect”. Hopefully it was obvious I meant NOTHING instead of MOTHING. 🤪
And I want to say – my comments mean no disrespect to you Viktoria.
March 10, 2018 at 2:26 am
Thank you for this installment even though you two had a bad day yesterday

Thank you so much for writing these books. I am sad that someone would try to pirate your work and jeopardize the free Innkeeper serial for eveyone. Please keep writing this series even if you never post it on-line again. This is one of the best and most creative of your series. (although my next favorite was the edge series). I adore all your books and only wished you could publish them quicker.
March 10, 2018 at 10:42 am
Please don’t get too discouraged that there are a bunch of a-holes out there, willing to sell their souls just for a few bucks. For every one of them, there are others (like me) who buy electronic versions (both e-books and audiobooks) and hard copies, just so we can enjoy the books in different venues. Because authors SHOULD be paid (selfish reason on my part; I just want you to keep writing!).

I rarely comment but in light of the events you shared I felt I should add my own voice to the countless other readers that do respect you guys and say Thank you for sharing your work with us. People suck and there will never be a shortage of slime balls that seek to make a quick buck on the backs of others. This installment was amazing.. I’m not crying, you’re crying… It was so touching to see the glimmer of hope restored just that much more to Maude and Helen. I look forward to purchasing the final edit and adding it to my innkeeper collection on my Kindle.
March 10, 2018 at 11:20 am
Ok, I have to leave this here: I don’t know what it is about Mauds Story, but this is my absolute favorite Innkeeper. Of all the wonderful stories you’ve given us over the years (and I love almost all of them), this one is by far my favorite.
It is dramatic, it is funny, it is sassy, it has incredible details, your world-building is on a level that I actually feel like I’m there with Maud. In short, this is superb storytelling and you have my deepest respects and many thanks for the escape from reality!
March 10, 2018 at 1:27 pm
So sweet, loved it, thank YOU!!
March 10, 2018 at 1:37 pm
Thank you so much. It pains me when finding from previous post of pirating/fraudulent problems you are experiencing. Where is the respect? Grrrr.
March 10, 2018 at 2:08 pm
I loved this one, finished it and felt happy and content rather than desperate for the next installment, still looking forward to the next installment though! 😊

Love Arland’s parenting style! And did you all notice his “I’m looking for a partner”…not a maiden to save comment? Maud just fits!!

I’m not quite sure what all these comments are about, but I assume you are in the process of writing a fifth Innkeeper book which will be primarily about Maud and Arland and possibly about Maud and Dina and finding their parents. If I’m right or even half right, I would appreciate finding out when the book comes out so that I can buy it through Amazon Smile for my Kindle. I have read these books several times and enjoyed them greatly, but would love to see another.
i also have all your Hidden Legacy Series, the Edge Series and the Kate Daniels series. Thank you for all the wonderful tales of other worlds.
March 11, 2018 at 12:02 pm
The Andrews are actually writing Maud’s book right here online and we get to follow along. They did it with the previous books also. If you follow the trailer back you can start with the beginning of the book here on the blog, this is Chapter 5 part 2 already. I’m just catching up with this one also. HTH.
March 11, 2018 at 11:57 am
O.K. I’m gonna ask my question here since I don’t know where else to.
I own the kindle editions of all three Innkeeper books and I was wondering if there is somewhere that the artwork that was online for them might be? I have been reading them again and was thinking the pictures might be a part of the ebook but I can’t find them anywhere. I missed reading OFS online so I didn’t get to see any pictures there might have been of the characters. I just know the great writers had pictures of like Wing, Helen, the Hiru and the Draziri.
I signed up for the newsletters now so I won’t forget in the future😁

You know, I just realized. You moved away from that Staples (or was it an Office Depot?) where you told them you were planning a murder… Now you don’t have to worry about going there anymore. 😀
March 12, 2018 at 9:59 pm
Oops! Sorry. It was a kidnapping, not murder. I mis-remembered. …Is that even a word? Lol.

Oh I’m so glad to have seen this! Please keep posting, I look out for these even out of schedule. I am *not* constitutionally inclined towards patience and they’ve been the high point of a few weeks. Please don’t let a few bad apples (the phrase I’m actually thinking is certainly not “Comments appropriate”) put you off.
