Rain, Dishwasher, and Magic Rises

Rain, Dishwasher, and Magic Rises

We’ve received a number of emails which can only be humorously summed up as “You’ve been gone enough, you twisted goon.  We miss you, come back and entertain us.”

I’ve been deliberately taking a break from the blog.  Partly because I tend to whine and then you tend to reassure and a lot of times flatter me. I use the blog to vent and it must be coming off as needing a lot of reassurance.  So I decided that unless I have a solid post that isn’t centered around whining, I wouldn’t post.

So I don’t really have a solid post.   ~_~  I’m locking the comments.

Let’s see, we finished Magic Rises and sent it to our editor.  The finale needs to be fixed still and we want to expand one scene into a magic demonstration rather than an explanation, but that will have to be done later.  Coming out of two months of really intense work on the book complicated by a long bout of flu left both of us a little shellshocked.  At some point Gordon, a bit bleary eyed, looked up from the manuscript and said, “It will be so nice to have some conversation with you that’s not about the book.”

Once we emailed the book off – on Saturday – we decided to take it easy.  We were planning on seeing a movie, but so far we managed only to accomplish not working.  We had resisted a TV in our bedroom for years, but we finally installed a flat screen and let me tell you, laying in bed watching TV is a crazy insane luxury.  We spent Sunday and Monday mostly sleeping with occasional waking up to select a new show from the recorded list.  And guess what?  I am not going to work today either.  :)

Well, maybe just a little bit.  But probably not.
