Wow, so many great comments. Yes, The Evil Dead has to be way up there along with Big Trouble in Little China and rare post-apocalyptic gems like Cherry 2000 and A Boy and His Dog (staring a young Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, respectively, who were a couple in the 80′s.)
If you had HBO or Cinemax as a kid, you could stay up and watch those kind of things. The winner, chosen by the all powerful Random Number Generator, is Vicki Tunnell, page 2 comment 48. I am a fan of the Buffy film, though I never really watched the TV show that followed. It has an awesome soundtrack, and perhaps the most ridiculous vampire death scene in film history. Vicki, please email us, so we can get your prize out to you.

I think her name is Melanie…
not very interested in the prize but i just came up with a good one.
Lake Placid
and that 90s 3 musketeers disney version (i just love that movie to death, it has the best cardinal ever)
I love the scene at the end where Betty White is feeding all the little gators.
the bear scene…
the whole thing with the helicopter…
and basically every time that Platt talks…
Congrats to the winner!!
My daughter likes Buffy now – it’s weird how that happens, hardly seems like any time ago I was watching it the first time around. And I’m happy to say she is a Spike fan and thinks Angel sucks (lol excuse the pun) except for when he was Bad-Angel.

Okay. I know I’m late to add my cheesy movies, but my husban loves to make me watch horrible/cheesy 80s movies on Netflix. For example, he made me watch Cherry 2000 and Big Trouble in Little China. But one of the worst has to be Mac and Me. It’s a total E.T. rip off and an advertisement for McDonalds and Coke. Found an alien dying of dehydration in the desert? Why give him water? It’s Coke he needs! And later you can celebrate your birthday by hosting a dance party at McDonalds! Totally tubular, dude! And that reminds me of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (live action, of course)….
Oh. I forgot Streets of Fire. My dad’s personal favorite.
For good reason, that movie should have been huge but was just a bit ahead of it’s time. William Defoe is the mother F ing Man, in that movie.
You saying Dude reminds me of Bill and Teds Excellent Adventures….
Streets of Fire is nothing less than totally brilliance! Everyone’s movie suggestions were so dang fun.

Congrats! Have fun with your prize!
Gordon if you’ve got nothing to do — hahahahahahahaha- I think you should compile a list of our cheesy movie suggestions and post it somewhere on the site. It would be great to refer to for bad Friday night movies.
I can take a picture of my beloved blu rays and you all can decide what is cheesy, hell I will give you one for free, Flash Gordon (1980) pure liquid gold.
Ahhhhhhhh! Flash Gordon — now THAT is cheesy!
I can hear the soundtrack in my head : “FLASH, ahahhhhh”
giggle, snort
I’m a huge Pitch black fan. (and chronicles of riddick)
its awesome, filled with action and i dont get why people dont like it.
cant wait to see movie number 3
Sorry I missed such an awesome contest. Just in case it wasn’t mentioned by anyone previously, I highly recommend “The Blood of Heroes,” early Rutger Haurer. For a newer pick I would definitely say “Outlander” which was an outstanding blend of sci-fi/viking/hell hound.
Always, Jenna
Ilona is a huge Outlander fan, I like it but not as much as Pathfinder, but I am fascinated by the idea of a small band of vikings exploring ancient North America and battling overwhelming Native forces. Gosh, it’s like a David Gemmell book or something, all it needs is an old fort and a siege.
Outlander! Jim Caviezel! Hello!
My kind of eye candy and I just watched this last weekend. Of course, my last name is Outland, so it was destined for me to like the movie.
For me it is Weekend at Bernie’s for some reason my Mom and I fell in love with it and can do the quotes. My second best is the Princess Bride. Yes I was a teenager and in my twenties with the 80′s big hair and Sally Jesse glasses era.
Congrats to the winner!!!
Oh does anyone else recall Earth Girls are Easy??? OMG so cheesy it was only good as a drinking movie. LOL… Well back when I was young and did such things.
Jeff Goldblum Damon Wayans and Jim Carrey. That is a very funny film. “I like em Big and Stupid” was a great song.
MY Stepmother is an Alien.
Anyone remember that?
Also, I’m a fan of Japanese Horror films with weird movie titles. Ie:
Aliens vs Ninjas
Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl
Robogeisha
Mutant Girls Squad
The Machine Girl
So terrible, and yet.. my friends and I sit there and mock and laugh….
Excellent theme for a contest, Dude. I didn’t really care about the DVD prize, I just wanted to know what the big winners were for Most Cheesy. I believe the winner is:
Big Trouble in Little China!
Runners up: Krull, Willow, and . . I can’t remember what others were mentioned a lot. This was fun!
I agree with Vicki, Buffy has the best vampire death scene ever.
Congrats to the winner…I think she deserves it…Thanks for this announcement!

had a bad commute day not long ago brought to mind Death Race 2000.
I need to know how to email you guys, thanks for the giveaway!!! I’m super excited! I sent a message through goodreads, hopefully that will work. Thanks!
Umm, you could send your info to me at GordonSm3@gmail.com and we will get the movie out to you. Glad you won, Buffy is a wonderfully cheesy movie, highly underrated.
I know you’ve probably stopped reading this set of comments – but please do watch Buffy The Vampire Slayer (the television series). The first season is sweet, the following 2 are some of the best seasons even now. If you do make the time for it, especially Seasons 1-3, and Hush (4.10), I don’t think you will regret it. I also recommend it for your daughters.
I do like the movie, though.
So mad I missed this discussion. I’m not sure if this one was mentioned but one of my favorites is called “Odd Jobs” with Paul Reiser.
My brother and I STILL quote from that movie as do my best friend Nellie and I.
“Don’t touch the chrome….don’t TOUCHAT chrome!”
